In order for their welterweight unification to happen, WBA/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is demanding that a fight with Manny Pacquiao, the WBO's beltholder, be handled by Showtime Pay-Per-View. Mayweather also wants his company, [Floyd] Mayweather Promotions, to be the lead promoter of the event.

Mayweather has a multi-fight exclusive contract with Showtime. Pacquiao is under contract to rival network HBO and he has a promotional agreement with Top Rank.

"If the Pacquiao fight does happen it has to happen on Showtime Pay-Per-View only and Mayweather Promotions have to do the fight," Mayweather told ESPN UK.

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, hopes a deal can be worked out.

“Of course you have hope, because it’s all about giving the fans what they want to see. We would love to fight him. We all know what the obstacles have been in the past. But you forget about all that and try to put it behind you and make it happen," Ellerbe said.

Pacquiao returns on November 22nd in Macau, when he takes on Chris Algieri. Mayweather is planning to fight again in May.

To make a fight between Mayweather and Pacquioa, the only model that works is a joint pay-per-view project between HBO and Showtime, very similar to 2002 PPV between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, which saw both networks and all of the involved propmoters put aside their differences to stage the event.

I'm not saying he ducking but he obviously don't want that fight bad enough.

Excluding the 1st round of negotiations in late '09-early-'10... he has to take the predominate portion of the blame for the fight not happening...he just keeps pushing the goalposts further & further.

Mayweather was tryna clinch, was he trying to intentionally be dirty we dont know we only can amke assumptions, but we know Chino was blatantly being dirty once again...................
fukk outta here. He clearly fouled him. He did it a couple time within the fight. And he has did it before in other fights.

A foul is a foul. I don't give a fukk about veteran tactics.

After rewatching the fight im not sure if Crydonna won a round...maybe the 4th but thats about it.

Its amazing to see a 37 year old with the speed, reflexexes, legs, and punch accuracy that Floyd still has. I think his decline to this point is exaggerated, hes still prime Money

Ya there was alotta clinching but it was still an entertaining fight. Floyds counterpunching and pot shotting is very entertaining at least to me. Perhaps Ray Leonard was more entertaining to most boxing fans but I dont think he was better. He lost fights :manny:

Post Michael Jordan Money Mays gotta be the best athlete in all of sports. Hes so sharp not just physically but mentally too, regardless of what problems he has outside of the ring. Im gonna miss him when hes gone, thats my Floyd :to:

Breh...have you ever SEEN prime Floyd Mayweather?

Prime Floyd Mayweather was Pretty Boy Floyd. Go look at Floyd vs Diego Corrales. Floyd vs Arturo Gatti. Floyd vs Sharmba Mitchell. Floyd vs Phillip N'Dou. Floyd vs Demarcus Corley.....then watch Floyd vs Maidana (either fight) and tell us again that he's still prime:ufdup:

He's not in his prime, and hasn't been since he beat JMM. He's extremely skilled however and is adapting to no longer having the same hand speed, quickness, reflexes he had 10 years ago. He's not out "speeding" guys anymore...he's out smarting these other guys and winning mainly because he's such an intelligent fighter.

Floyd is pretty much like Jordan from 1996-1998. No longer the same athlete he was in his prime, but he's adapted his game and using his skills (rather than athleticism) to dominate now, and even with the fact he's slowed down, he's still MUCH more skilled than anyone trying to stop him.
