He really has been incredible from the beginning of this WC.

His vision, passing and positionning are incredible. And he's always initiating some pressing and he's really effective on defence too.

For the WC, refs on the field supposedly have final discretion on all calls. That's been recently mitigated somewhat by VAR tech, but essentially once the call is made during the game that's it. Various national leagues have their own ways of post-match decisions where necessary.

So they can appeal which player (CR7) gets credited with a goal, but not wether a potentially result affecting yellow card was warranted?
