Qatar has issues, yes, and I wasn't sold on any aspect of this World Cup in Qatar, but they have proven me wrong.

For me saying Ronaldo is better than Messi is like saying Romario was better than Maradona. Romario emerged in the same era had better stats, there was never any confusion about the better footballer. The gap between Ronaldo and Messi statistically has never been wide enough to make him better.

Messi scores and creates. Ronaldo just scores. If you watch a full 90, Messi is doing more to involve the team, and put his squad in winning positions.
Ronaldo on the other hand has the killer instinct, probably the best goal scorer we'll ever see, but will ACTIVELY make the situation worse if he's not getting his way.

That's the things that's not on the "stats sheet" but always separated Messi from CR7 as the GOAT...

Teams have to qualify from their groups around the world.

Just not enough time to make it yearly following that format, especially when you include the regional cups and club football.
