Far too late to expect it to stop at this point. The NBA did it's damage with the Jordan marketing, now all a casual has to do is know one name and spout a bunch of meaningless stats at dinner parties to portray as though they're knowledgeable. The England game had me feeling that France would win the final. They are able to find a goal when they need one, as bad as their back line and midfield were. Their midfield and back line being even average is probably enough to get them through these last two games.
