I can see this match seeing a record of yellows like that Portugal-Netherlands in WC 2006. Things are kinda dirty right now and could get ugly in the second half :patrice:

Ref's not helping, but it's not exactly two teams known for fair play. Argentina once had two sent off in the World Cup final and the Netherlands love a bad tempered red once it looks like they're going to lose.

They're not even like FTs because at least FTs are a skill that occurs regularly in the course of the game and everyone takes part in it. While penalties are rare outside of shootouts, and several guys taking the penalty in the shootout would never have been picked to do it in the game. Neymar would have been the only guy taking PK unless he was injured, and then the actual shootout ends before he's even had his chance.

Plus a basketball game that ended in a free throw contest would suck ass.

PKs occur in game as well. There’s a modification of the procedure for the shootout but let’s kill this talk that PKs have no resemblance on the actual game.

Netherlands need to put a target man on and be more direct, use that height advantage. Argentina can hustle their way through the game defensively if the ball is constantly played to feet.

That’s what I’m saying. They’re from the land of giants playing against de facto Italian midgets, and yet they’re not using it to their advantage.
