Yes they are settlers from the 1920s and 1930s. They came from a larger economy with all their money and bult businesses. They didnt steal land like in South Africa, As a matter of fact they had to go through all kinds of loopholes to be even able to BUY lands in Haiti because you had to be a citizen.

What they did in the 20s and 30s was marry or have their kids marry Haitian women and have the businesses under their names. These Haitian women got their cut because their children inherit the shyt.

It's simple doggy. You living in the U.S. are in a larger economy. You go to a small country you have more money than the average joe. You invest said money and you;re now a big fish in a small pond unlike where you were before. Nothing wrong with that

Coincidentally thats around the same type America forced Haiti to rewrite the constitution to allow non Black Haitians to own land. There's a reason why Haiti's forefathers put it in there for a reason.

I dont have a problem with people investing into the country. What I DO have a problem with is when they start having monopoly's in Haiti's business and infrastructure and trying to stagnate Haiti just so they can keep making millions of off cheap labor. Not to mention they keep their wealth within their circles.

“Energy Mafioso” against China’s $2B Plan to Electrify Haiti

How many good deals have they ruined just so they keep making money? A lot of the them are puppets for the US/Europe/Middle East etc

Same thing here in the US. Industries thrive on cheap labor. You rather have none? THey tried to burn Brasserie nationale this past weekend that employs THOUSANDS. with Haiti's unemployement rate already over 70%. You 'd rather see it reach 90%?

Delimart had all 3 of its stores in Delmas looted and 2 of them burned. That's over 200 employees that are unemployed at the moment. You'd rather they have no jobs than one that exploits cheap labor? Remember this aint the U.S. where you get unemployment checks or welfare checks. If you dont have it you're gonna starve. Pick your poison.

Im not saying there isnt corruption. Many people that benefit from the energy crisis oppose any progress. That's been known.
Alway remember im not one of them haitians that was born here and never lived in Haiti. I was there when Duvalier, Manigat, and Aristide were overthrown. I lived through Dubvalier, Nemphy, Manugat, Cedras, Trouilliot, Aristide and Avril.Little scuffles like you saw this weekend aint shyt compared to the chaos i saw in my teens. But we gotta smart about revolutions. I always tell all these coli militants talking about revolution in the U.S. that i personally dont believe in revolution without violence. But that
"koupe tet boule kay" mentality we have has to be curbed to some degree.

Most cheap labor is outsourced or kept to poor immigrants like Mexicans so it’s not comparable at all. The average American is not doing cheap labor :comeon:

Low pay vs no pay at all. Like i said PICK ONE.

Look, Im not saying that people shouldnt protest for higher wages. They should. If you wanna get violent then burn government offices. Burn police cars even. But the few business owners that are willing to come and invest in haiti you burn their shyt down what does that leave you with?

Again you're already at 70% unemployment. Those 3 delimarts alone that's 200+ low-skilled workers who no longer have a job. Brasserie Nationale who's been around since before i was born and employs thousands. Had they been able to successfully burn it you'd be adding thousands more to the unemployed list.

Again you tell me with a country that's so low on actual cash and need foreign investors. If YOU, yes YOU @Mr.Big Meat McGee had $300K right now are you taking the risk of innvesting it in Haiti knowing that anytime the people are unhappy with their government they might burn down YOUR business to show their rage. Simple YES or NO will suffice. Im haitian. My dream is to go back home and tell the USA blans to kiss my ass. But if i see this is how i could lose my life savings investing in Haiti...Gotta rethink this one

Read the rest of the posts for context, doggy. This ain't no "Plata o plomo' on some Escobar shyt. Just saying you gotta work with what you got and improve on it little by little. Can't just burn the shyt down

I might need to head down there while the getting is good. Chaos is a ladder, brehs.

Went in October last year and been itching to go back to OKap since
