our necessity for swag in leadership is a hindrance to progress. This is why many of our leaders ultimately turn into charlatans. What we need are more calculated and rational thinking men who do not rely so much on emotions to solve our most complex issues.

Think about all the people black folks look up to and admire. There's some semblance of style and flamboyant in their presentation and rhetoric: preachers, rappers, hell even Obama has a swag about him that allows his message to reach people more effectively.

Agreed. Many of our people are too easily bamboozled by slick talkers. And in all honesty ,we should rely less on leadership for empowerment and more on the institutions we build.
