Dak Fans: Jerry & Stephen dont build enough around Dak for him to be successful
*After 3 straight 12-5 seasons*

Also Dak Fans: Lets pay Dak $60m a year!
$60M is too much but I do think we can make improvements, if he takes less, which he should. Dak has proven he can win in the regular season and put up crazy numbers, but why didn't we seriously address the running back position and offensive line? Duece might not even be in the league next year.

They’ll pay him the $60mil because as money comes in and the sport grows, QBs will be getting 70-80mil AAV in a few years.

Thats what makes Mahomes such a valuable instance. Signed 10 years with a firm 6-8 year commitment at a very reasonable number.

CJ Stroud will get damn year 80 a year 3 years from now when he’s up and they pick up his 5th year option.

Who else could I realistically cheer for at this point in my life? All my childhood memories of football revolve around the Cowboys, I wouldn't have that attachment to another team like that.

You know you don't HAVE to cheer for a football team breh. You can just watch football. That's mostly what I do. Even when the cowboys were getting smoked I was just like

Twitter or X or whatever people want to call it has a numerous amount of Dak cultists who are absolutely frightened about the prospect of not having Dak as the quarterback.
Here is one.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Did Dak not have a top oline, a top running back or running game, and a good defense at times since he’s been in Dallas? Did he not have 9 all pros this year? So why does he need more help. Are they saying he needs a perfect team?

I moreso am a football fan these days. I'll never cheer against the Cowboys, but this team insults my intelligence too much to be a die hard fan anymore like I used to.

"if you can not win with Prescott making $40 million a year what makes you think you can win with him at $60 million a year? Really this gets down to an underlying issue of a team not looking for other options at the position so they have a different option, but that is a topic for another day."
"If they can't win with Jerry Jones' Camp Cupcake Culture, what makes us think they can win by keeping Jerry Jones' Camp Cupcake Culture?"

Dak is not talented enough to overcome the Jerry Jones problem. Mahomes/Reid as a combo are the only current NFL HC/QB combination that "might" make it work......and they'd still fail because the defense cannot stop air.

Getting rid of Dak is fine but fans gotta get out of this thinking that Dak is the only thing keeping Dallas from hoisting their 6th Lombardi.

Harbaugh/Belichick, youth in the trenches and some legit inside LBs would make a bigger impact. Jerry doesn't want all that. He would rather pay Dak to take all the heat....same as Romo did. Cowboys QB job is to be the whipping boy so Jerral Wayne can make $$$$ and count his 3 rings.

i predict mccarthy gets fired mid season tbh

He would have to be way below .500 for that to happen. Jerry has shown to be a contract guy.. he will honor a contract till it expires 99% of the time. I can only think of Wade Phillips and Zeke being the only ones let go while having a contract in the last 20 years

An extension would reduce Prescott’s mammoth $59.46 million cap hit, but that’s not the only option. Two void years were attached on the back end of his deal for 2025 and 2026, dummy years added to allow the Cowboys more financial flexibility. Hypothetically, the Cowboys now have the sole discretion to reduce his 2024 salary to as low as $1.21 million, with the $27.79 million reduction paid as a bonus and evenly distributed across the next three years. If the Cowboys convert the maximum amount of Prescott’s salary into a signing bonus, Prescott’s new number would be $40.93 million. It would still be the league’s seventh-highest cap hit, but up to $18.53 million in 2024 cap space could be created through this zero-negotiation automatic conversion.
