It's been my most wanted movie for like 5 years now. It blew my expectations out of the water.

Have you seen Yi Yi? I was floored when I first saw it. People say A Brighter Summer Day is even better!

I can only think of five films I've enjoyed more than Yi Yi.

Yeah I saw Yi Yi last year for the first time and thought it was damn near perfect. If I had to choose a favorite between them right now I'd say A Brighter Summer Day by a hair. I can't wait to rewatch both of them tho.

Now I need to track down a good copy of The Terrorizers.

Thoughts on criterion leaving hulu and being on TCMs new filmstruck app in November brehs?

I'm kinda salty because i use my moms hulu but i would pay for it if its good and is available on every device. Don't like how they're saying criterion will be a premium price tier though

I'm intrigued by the combination of the two libraries. I use Hulu to watch tv almost daily, so I'll probably keep that regardless.

Restored episodes of Dekalog (5 and 6, the best ones) are being restored and shown at Cannes this year. Hoping that means Dekalog is coming soon.

Also hoping the Mungiu film in competition wins to push Criterion's hand in getting his films out quicker.

Fingers crossed that it's their big holiday box this year. Zaitochi 2 years ago and Apu last year.

That and the Before Trilogy are my most wanted Criterion releases. I just saw Linklater's newest and want very badly to rewatch his best work now.

Supposedly they have the rights to 100% of Kieslowski's catalog.

I'd also love to know if they have interest in any Lav Diaz films.

I actually got to see Linklater do an intro to Bresson's "L'argent" a few months ago. He mentioned that boxset was forthcoming as well.
