I have no problem criticizing Corey or other ppl criticizing the show. I think we all want Corey to be at his best, but I also understand the logistics and management of it all.

Besides 85 South, Corey is like the only 1-man successful independent show. All the overhead falls on him. Renting the location, buying the equipment, paying the sound engineers/staff. All that falls on him and I know that shyt is draining, yet self-rewarding at the same time. So I give mercy to the bruh when shyt dont go right. He drops all this free content for the 5150 nation, I'll critique and criticize when appropriate but I aint going overboard like some nikkas in the comments

I wouldn’t call Coreys show successful. He has 188k subs and he been doing the show for over a decade. 85 south show got over 1 million doing their show for half that time. Corey is like the naturally gifted athlete that we all knew growing up that lacked the work ethic because everything came easy. There’s no excuse for the shoddy production and still not having a location to do the podcast. Look at drink champs, joe budden, 85 south show, hell look at gradys show. You can go back to coreys shows from 5 years ago and see no evolution or growth. He’s actually regressing because the show is actually get less funny every week. He was one of the first in the game doing his podcast since 2010 yet dont even know how to do a basic podcast setup. When Darlene was out for 2 weeks with COVID he wouldn’t even handle the merchandise. Kraig tried to put him on to NFTs that can get him minimum $100k right now and he literally said “I’ll pay someone to just do all that for me.” You can’t call someone a hater for giving constructive criticism.

All of those shows had the same level of production quality and content BEFORE they got partnerships and sponsors. The location has nothing to do with production quality and content. Kevin samuels does his show out of hotel rooms and his camera quality and setup is A1. His content doesn’t change. Joe budden does his podcast in parks living room, the content doesn’t change. 85 south show did their show on the road and a whole tour because the content is funny and entertaining. The actual content of the 5150 show is regressing. He spends 1/3 of the entire show making fun of Marcus and Darlene. Same jokes over and over again. He got 50 year old elderly Darlene picking the topics that nobody cares about and can barely read. How many times we watch the show and him and Darlene arguing for 30 mins while the cohosts just sitting there? The show is dying in a time where podcasts are exploding. You could say doing a broadcast in 2010 was hard but not in 2021. All you need is internet, a light, microphones, a mixer, and a camera. Thats it. There are literally thousands of people doing their on podcasts every week that dont have anywhere near the resources, following, or money that Corey has. You got children making millions streaming on twitch. It’s not expensive, it just takes initiative. Corey has always had a team. He just doesn’t respect them and their input. He called zo the weakest link but what does Marcus add to the show? Every time he talks Corey makes fun of his accent. He had Darlene, Marcus, zo, Chris, frank, freeze, Sara, kraig, Bobby, nate, etc. They all leave because the show is stagnant.

Basically 3 points

1. Corey being independent has nothing to do with the actual content of the show regressing. He spends 1/3 of the show making fun of Darlene and Marcus with the same jokes over and over again. You got some shows where he’s having a real argument with Darlene while his guests just sit there awkwardly.

2. It’s not expensive to do a podcast in 2021. You have children making money online via YouTube and twitch. You got thousands of adults doing podcasts and YouTube videos every week of higher quality without sponsors. Corey has the money, he just lacks initiative and drive.

3. Corey has always had a team he just doesn’t respect their input. Darlene handles all of his merchandise, website, and studio setup but he constantly undermines her and allows the fans to as well. He just called zo the weakest link and kicked him off the show. What does Marcus bring to the show?

Here’s a huge way to get more views and subscribers: Corey could take clips of funny moments of his show and upload them to the channel like joe Rogan and everyone else does. For instance, I wanted to hear some of the old songs they do but I don’t know what episode they’re on. He had a fan doing this for him for free but he reported the fan and didn’t want him getting views. Hater shyt. You to lazy to do it for yourself but you got a fan doing it for free and you report them.

I remember he said that might be his son. I’m like you’re not going to find out?? He’s clearly in need of a father in his life and you might be his father.
