I have a former neighbor who's currently running for Mayor in Oakland and has a shot at winning. Someone that I know personally. If Oakland residents vote for him then he'd be in position to change shyt, if they don't he won't but it's something the citizens have control in voting for.

I notice when it comes to shyt like legalizing marijuana nikkas have no problem in telling folks to vote for that.

Thanks for your response! We need more examples such as yours to prove to people if the system works or doesn't. Enough of just voting and just leaving everything up to the elected to do all the work with no pressing, because if things really changed apart from diversity, tech and a little bit of infrastructure then most people will be motivated and completely buy into the system.

I mean look at flint, michigan... it seems like the govt doesn't really give a damn about their plight, why should residents over there think just voting will solve their problems when the powers that be are deliberately ignoring the situation over there.

You're moving the goalposts all over the place. Voting didn't get us to the front of the bus. Economic boycotts did. Bull Connor was around when we had the right to vote. Bull Connor was around when we got the right to sit anywhere on the bus. Mitch McConnell and Joe Biden are definitely different. But neither are a Bull Conner. Also, we did have Bull Connor type of politicians in Congress. It's why the Civil Rights Bill barely passed.
