One of my siblings been to Tz and LOVED it. Tz is one of my dream countries especially because I love Swahili history and wanna visit the Kilwa ruins but also Tz has very beautiful scenery. I also love the culture and the way Swahili sounds.:wow:

I wanna stay in both Daar and a 2 day trip in Zanibar. If I go to Tanzania it'll probably be my most EXPENSIVE trip yet cuz I'm gonna wanna do and see a lot of shyt. Thats why I haven't visited yet.

This cat wants me to go to Morocco with him but idk. My ex who was Moroccan wanted me to go there wit here. But I wanna go to Egypt because I HAVE to see the pyramids before I die.:wow:

I do a tour to Cairo, Luxor and then Aswan to see the Black Nubians.:wow: Egypt would be some Indiana Jones/Nathan Drake type of trip shyt. I don't care about modern Egyptian culture just wanna see the Black excellence of indignous nile valley civilization. I'm a big Nile Valley civ head.

:wow: the pyramids...egypt looks tempting

After what's happened in South Africa with the xenophobic attacks, I don't think I wanna go there now. LOL

Still going next year. I think this thing has been blown out of proportion.

Terrible what’s happening but context is key to understanding these attacks.

As a tourist or traveler, there is a 0.0001% you’d come in contact with these attacks.

Now that I’ve been, I understand the lay of the land and how to move accordingly.

Don’t be swayed by fear mongering.

It’s like someone saying there’s a specific neighborhood in Brooklyn where a small sub-population of blacks are fighting and from that you cancel your trip to NYC when you planned to stay in Manhattan for the week and would not step foot in Brooklyn.

It’d be different if you weren’t going to SA out of protest. That I could understand.

Honestly, I was more wary of visiting Cape Town during their water crisis than of attacks. Who wants to vacation in a place rationing water.

What’s happening in Jo’Burg is really no different than some of the regular crime the city faces albeit it seems targeted to a select group of people and is concentrated to one area.

I’m saying all of this as a Naija breh.

To tell you the truth, South Africa has never really interested me. Xenophopic attacks or no.

The one thing I dislike about Nigeria is not having my own spot, especially in Lagos. I got family that I can stay with, but I've just gotten so used to staying on my own and having my own space. We have a home in Abuja and I'm here looking at room prices at the Transcorp :russ:

What's worse is that there's no back entrance to my room, so if I'm tryna sneak shorties through then they gotta go through the front door :francis:

Nigerian hotels gotta step it up though...$120 for a room at Eko Suites in VI. Go to the bar downstairs and talk to a girl next thing she's talking about she wants to drink champagne and Henny:hhh:

Nigeria's COL is lowkey quite pricey for Western grade amenities. One of the reasons I keep saying SA is probably the best bang for your buck on the continent. You get the Western grade amenities but at African prices with the freedoms of the African continent i.e. not living in a nanny state like the UK.

Anyway, let's see how things pan out.

I should've been shelving away more cash to buy gifts for my family members in Nigeria. I could be out of pocket $800 on just gifts alone. My round trip flight was $1K for reference. :francis:

We haven't even started talking about all of the other ways Nigeria just has of draining your funds. It's usually the unexpected things as well. Then there's the clubbing and Lagos babes as well :snoop:

Anyway, after this trip, I think I'm good on Nigeria for Christmases. I'll go other times in the year but not Christmas.

Next year Christmas I'm leaning SA, that's unless I don't go there earlier in the year. Might also pull the trigger on that Brazil/Colombia trip as well. We'll see.
