It's only 4 issues in but is it already safe to say Avengers is ass? It's like a kiddie comic from 90's. I hate that young Nova and I don't care for his teenage banter with Ms. Marvel and Miles.

Also how is this supposed to be the main Earth's mightiest heroes team with all these rookies and teenagers? They're more like the New Warriors. How they go from Hickman's magnum opus to this?

Avengers going from Hickman's masterpiece to this All New All Different shyt reminds me of when they followed Grant Morrison's legendary New X-Men run with Chuck Austen gossipy X-soap opera bullshyt.

The real problem is that neither writer has done a great job so far in capitalizing on the intended strengths of each book. Plus the growing feeling that there's nothing relevant going on anyway.

i.e. whatevers going to happen between Miles & Kamala has already been plotted out by Bendis/WIllow Wilson and will happen in their solo titles. We also know regardless of what either team does, the next big event involves Carol vs Tony in which their team affiliations wouldn't matter as every superhero will be involved and allegiances reshuffled. So these books just feel like they're here to bide time until the 'important' stuff happens.

They've been lowkey teasing a Kamala/Miles or a Miles/Kamala/Nova for the past couple months. In issue 2 of her new volume they had that white dude who had a crush on her act extra salty b/c he believed she no longer had time for their friendship b/c she'd rather hang out with 'spider-man and his abs' as he put it. And Bendis has said he and Willow have been working together to make sure he has Kamala's characterization on point. I don't think they're going to be an item tbh (just marketing tactics i bet) but however they feel about each other will likely be revealed in Spider-Man #3.

As for Kamala, I haven't read the latest issue of her book but it's a good series overall. Just her dealing with her new found fame within her community, with her supporting cast and occasional Avengers guest appearances.
