Amadeus Cho Hulk was a fun read, surprising. The cameos and humor was spot on for me, and i'm saying this as a guy who never had interest in Banner or Hulk, outside of World War Hulk (in which i was tuning in more for the fukkery than anything else).
With ANAD Avengers, I feel it would've been better if they'd done this first 3 issue "origin" arc as a giant sized #1... just to get it out of the way. Because nobody cares about this Chitaurian guy and things are kinda dragging as we wade through all this set up. Compare it to the Ultimates in which the team is already assembled, they're already on their first big mission and the cliff hanger lets us know that formalities are over and we've hit the ground running with a reputable 'villain'.. All in issue #1.
And the Alex Ross covers aside, the art in ANAD is surprisingly subpar... like, how do you not get a top artist on the 'flagship' book? They should've put the guy on Invincible Iron Man or an equivalent on this.
