I liked that it juxtaposed her possession with real feelings and resentment she had for the kid before the possession even began. The symbolism was dope because it was going for more than just generic scares and made into something where you're supposed to fear what you can become even without the help of a demon or whatever that thing was. I also like that she didn't just get over it and it goes away, that ish had to be locked deep in the cellar like the "I wanna kill this damn kid man" feelings she has. It was clever...but yeah not scary outside of psychological stuff that I figure would bother women more than men.

To me the movie was a metaphor for grief

This is out now.

Reminds me of Fulci, but with characters that aren't grown as much as his are. I wouldn't have minded if it was given a little bit more time to breath. It feels...kinda short in a negative way. Builds atmosphere like, "The House of The Devil", except in a brisk run, instead of that movie's powerwalk to demonic fukkery.

Worth the watch though. :wow: The design for the demons are dope and they were about that action. These new horror movie demons are all about giving people the pimp hand and breaking your grandmother's only on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas fine china. These were about catching bodies:demonic:.

They could have done a bit more with the town-folk or something.

This Canadian movie called Girl House is a surprisingly solid slasher

And if you can get past some questionable acting, We Are Still Here was decent too. Had an old school horror feel to it.

So, this is a thing (horror movie streaming service):

Shudder.com

Seems cool so far. They just need to grow the library a bit more. Between this, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, you can find movies at any point in time, from many different regions. Still, I can't help but to think that some fukkery might keep some of the recent foreign films off of it.

Is this the thing AMC is doing?

the original Omen [1976] is some :demonic: shyt. From the very beginning when the nanny is like "this is all for you Damian" and hangs herself at the birthday party :merchant:

I still do not like that movie. I love that scene but man the movie just doesn't work for me. Also the baboon attack is hilarious

Did you ever watch the 2006 version? I didn't think it was bad, one of the better recent remakes I've seen. I'm not a big fan of the remake trend tho.

I didn't like that one either. I guess the omen just doesn't do it for me. Pause. the Friday the 13th remake and the evil dead remake are the the ones that jump out to me immediately in terms of recent dopeness on the remake front

I LOVED the Evil Dead remake. I didn't like the Friday the 13th remake as much. It was okay, it had a solid nudity/gore count but damn I didn't like this iteration of Jason. They humanized him too much. He was quick as fukk and like a survivalist. I like my Jason to be more unknown, force of nature, stalking his prey and brolic n/h
