So I watched Herzog’s Nosferatu since it’s one of shudders recommendations for the month and it was trippy as hell. Good watch and a little easier for me to sit through than Murnow’s silent version

The silent version was on a few months ago on our local channel MeTV. That is a chore.

I watched the silent Nosferatu maybe 4 years ago during October, and I understood why it so lauded as a horror movie. It still has some bite to it. The visuals, the camera work on the shadows and the castle, it had some very unsettling images.

I need a vampire movie or a few for this year, one of my favorites has always been Hammer's Prince Of Darkness.

And @MartyMcFly Nosferatu is actually coming on TCM at 12M. I guess they did a Mummy marathon first.

BTW the '32 Dracula & Frankenstein are still some of the best....Dracula with the effects

I saw the 79 version on filmstruck last year.

I actually just DL'd the restored OG Nosferatu today as the one on Amazon is the shytty quality , shorter public doman one.

It's been on my list for like 5 years.

Also in the queue:

Evil Dead
Evil Dead 2
They Live
Island of Lost Souls

and am going to watch the remaining 4 of the 6 universal classic monster joints i copped

Was you ok with Count Dracula being silent throughout the film?

Many of the Lee adaptations, esp. the middle ones, featured reduced lines from Dracula, I believe it was a dispute with Lee and the directors, I think I read. I didn't mind it, no. Part of the reason I am partial to that one is I remember watching just the opening sequence as a kid on Halloween, it was playing after the Trick or Treat, and I think I was watching it up late.

I remember the set up being very effective, esp, as a kid, the two couples getting lost in the woods, and the kind of eerie atmosphere of the forest. Of course, it is a little creaky now.

His silence made him more effective as a predator, rather than a charming host.

Anybody check out The Body, the first movie in the Hulu horror anthology series Into The Dark?
It was a fun movie with some surprises in character motivations and reactions that I wasn't expecting.
It was pretty good. I’ll definitely be checking for November’s

I watched the 1944 version, assuming it is the same, a year or so ago, on TCM, very plodding, dated and slow. I don't think it's held up.

Watching this Malevolent joint on NETFLIX

Maaaaaaaaan! If this Jackson kid dont get hit with the most painful death i swear!

A-1 a$$hole character.

Caught this one, and thought it wasn't half bad. I liked the ghost make-up a lot. Kinda all over the place but I liked it.

There are definitely gems for any flavor. There's a lot crap to wade through too, but I've found plenty of solid to good joints on it.
