Sinners is an elite movie-going experience. The quality of cinematography and score is made for an Imax theater with digital surround sound. The horror scenes are really well done, though the story is more action and drama than horror IMO.
It's just a great movie. But in terms of horror discussion, I think the way Coogler portrayed the vampires is the most interesting part. He took typical tropes (ie: you have to invite a vampire inside) and used them along with the story to make some really tense scenes.
But he also threw in some new concepts. like having the vampires share memories kinda like a hive mind. I'm not sure I've seen that before in a vamp story.
It's a great example of how writers can take tropes and use them to their advantage. What the audience already knows about creatures can be used to fast track certain parts of the story and juice up the tension.

I know where they filled Friday the 13th in Jersey. A couple of years ago, they were letting people camp in Crystal lake over Friday the 13th. Too bad I didn't find out until afterwards

yeah, I think she was most of the franchise's fans favorite final girl. Jason struggled with her more than any other final girl(outside of Tommy Jarvis, who was a male). 63 is young.

The late night movie channel special of the 90s , The Granny(1995), needs to get a release. This was never even released on dvd. A bluray release would do numbers for collectors. I need that.

I mean the lead chick is hot and she don't wear nothing but tight shirts. the Japanese tech on the ship is pretty cool but the effects, especially later, are WOAT. I'd prefer a str8 up story like event horizon with ppl dying THEN you find out what happens in the end, can't recommendWatching Ash (2025). Just another alien body snatcher film.
