Fifteen mins into this new drop called Beezel and I think we might have a hidden gem on our hands. This started strong!

Over 60 years, three guests of a cursed home discover an eternal witch who lives beneath it with an insatiable thirst for living souls.

Probably would have liked Apartment 7A more if First Omen hadn't already came along and crushed the buildings with these types of movies this year. The actors were great but the story is mediocre as hell..

I agree. I didn't watch First Omen yet, but I like Immaculate more than Apartment 7A. I realized watching the movie that Roe V Wade got overturned in 2022 which is why we got so many of these movies this year. There's also The Fetus with Lauren LaVera and Bill Moseley coming out this year.

I also watched The Front Room.

Brandy was ok, and Kathryn Hunter was good. The movie was ass though. I think they played it too safe. The movie was pretty much a waste of time. I'd rather watch a bad movie than this. I had to rewind it 2 or 3 times because I kept falling asleep at the end.

Just watched Oddity and I can say it’s definitely getting overhyped. Wasn’t bad just wasn’t the horror flick of the year that I’ve seen it getting praised as by some outlets.
It's up there, but only because this year has been fairly weak. When there aren't any standouts, the stuff that's just good gets overrated.

After Late Night with the Devil and the First Omen, it's kinda wide open because everything else has just fallen somewhere between decent and good.

Rhetorical question (no pun), why is David Lynch's Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me, Lost Highway, and Inland

Empire not considered Horror Movies. When it doesn't get anymore nightmarish than his dense nihilistic trippy surrealism. And, why do I always have the illest dream after watching his FUKKERY:lupe::picard::whew:

Has elements of horror but not strong enough. Surrealism is fine.

Alien was a really good movie, but I docked it down to the second tier because the horror aspects weren't as good as the action parts IMO.

My tier 1 this year (8 out of 10 or higher) is First Omen and Late Night with the Devil. Tier 2 is the 7-7.5 range and that's got Alien, Oddity, Grave Torture, and A Quite Place.

Plus I've got Immaculate and Beezel set aside as movies I want to rewatch before I place them...both are borderline 7's.
