After Part 3 the sequels just gave up on staying tied to the original concept.
I don't even think that Part 4 was originally made as Silent Night sequel; the studio just slapped the franchise name on it because they thought it would sell better.

Day Twenty-Five: Silent Night
I watch Silent Night every Christmas morning since 2012 so to say I love this movie is an understatement. Silent Night took the bare bones concept of a killer Santa Claus from the original Silent Night, Deadly Night and made an exhilarating slasher movie with cool kills, interesting characters and some really fun call backs to the original movie (most notably the Linnea Quigley antlers scene).
Even the killer's methodology is a nice play on the old chestnut about Santa leaving lumps of coal for all bad kids that is enough to compensate for what I consider to be the weakest part of the film and that is the killer's reason for killing.
And Jamie King deserves a tip of the cap because she makes Deputy Audrey Bradimore a worthy adversary to Killer Santa and a pretty good Final Girl too.
I give 'Silent Night' 3.5 out of 4 Gun Totin' Santa Loomis'

That man has been the “odd man out” in every single role that he plays- Like he was literally born to play the creepy weird guy roles, he’s in a lot of stuff for years but couldnt tell you his name without googling.

I liked the Darkness- I feel like Sinister was purposely filmed that way because the premise of the it was such a dark demonic depression mood intensive movie. Which lends to the hopelessness of it all and the downward spiral that you knew there was no ending where any options would leave anyone Alive. Loved it. One of my top 5 horror movies of all time- turned the close captions on, to compensate for the lack of color symmetry and Ethan Hawke’s mumbling some of his lines.
Idk why but it seems like A lot of movies/tv shows that I like are filmed “darkly” - been watching this series, I can’t see shyt if I don’t adjust my color settings bc it’s filmed mainly in the forests/woods- and combined with that it’s mostly greyscale and the cold, snow, icy scenes, gloomy asf, but it’s a really good show though:
