Bout to purchase a pistol this weekend for personal defense. At what price are these guns just not worth it? What amount of $ gets a solid gun?
Haven't shot a gun in years. Step father had a 9mm when I was a kid, so that was the last time I shot one. I've got a place nearby called 2-Sword that I'm going to take firearms training at. Not interested in customization, but maybe accessorize down the line. A safety is a must. I've got smaller hands, so something that's ergonomic and fits my hand well is required. Not interested in recoil, so not having to compensate would be dope.Your question is pretty vague. But I'll try to help.
First off have you ever shot before? Have you been to a range or gun store and held different models in your hands?
The reason I ask is because guns are like shoes, and despite good brands or cool looks, they are really dependent on the size and shape of your foot. If you got high or low arches, wide or narrow feet, some brands or models while they may be good or great or affordable won't be good for you personally.
Some people like certain guns like the m&p shield but others say while it's a fine gun it's just too small for their hands. While others like some sig models or fn but some of the models are just too big for those with smaller hands. If you've shot before, some guns are snappy, some have recoil which some shooters just can't overcome, but for others those models feel just fine.
Since you say personal defense, it sounds to me like you just want one solid piece, and your not looking to accessorize or customize. What are you looking for in a gun? Do you want a safety? Do you want night sights? Do you want an accessory rail for a light? Do you want something with a threaded barrel for a suppressor?
There's plenty of options, you can tell us what you want or are looking for and we can help, your best bet is to go to a store or a range and get some models in your hands then come back and tell us what you like or don't like. FN makes fine guns, as well as sig, I've owned both, multiple times, shot the hell out of them, sold/traded, newer model/something different comes out by one of those brands or a great deal, and I've tried again, they are fine guns, just not for me. But I like glock, s&w, hk, springfield, some Beretta, walther...some people refuse to buy some of them.
If u live in a gun friendly state, u can find some dope for under $600. Maybe under 500Bout to purchase a pistol this weekend for personal defense. At what price are these guns just not worth it? What amount of $ gets a solid gun?

even $150 can get you a solid pistol, the problem is that most of what's at that price point is junk. imo once you get past $500 or so p much every new production pistol will be solid and you can choose based on comfort at that point. hit my sig, i just updated it today with a bunch of guns i've shot in the past couple years.Haven't shot a gun in years. most modern gun designs don't require or have safeties, if this is a sticking point for you then you'll have to spend extra time/money hunting down a cali/mass compliant model
pistols for personal defense have lots of recoil compared to full size pistols, there's really no way around this

i was watching this guy's channel the other day, his taste is a mix of and ... own walls full of b&ts and hks but have a bunch of f1s and punisher skulls, brehs
ur right the g19 is called just the tlr7I have the TLR-7 sub on my glock 48. i think it's for slimline pistols only. You sure that would fit on a glock 19?

If you're interested in an easy to manage self defense gun, take a look at the Ruger EC9s (single stack 7+1 9mm), the Springfield Hellcat, or the Taurus G3C. All three of those are comfortable to wear, and not too snappy despite their small sizes. You can find the Ruger & the Taurus for less than $300 at most gun stores.Haven't shot a gun in years.
