I scroll this thread and I don’t understand why people feel Prime cant accomplish his goals in Boulder. Maybe because I’m old enough to remember when they were a good program. I always felt they could have it rolling with the right coach.

He pretty much provides the biggest stage an athlete could ask for:
- SupportIve AD
- National attention
- Scours damn near at every practice
- Created household names out of his playmakers in two games

Then of course Prime can create a college experience like no other. Boulder is already seeing the economic benefits of having a good football team, so I believe they’ll do whatever they can to keep him.

We all know as a black man, it’s very hard to be comfortable in white spaces. He would need to be VERY comfortable with a different AD if he were to move on.

The transfer portal just started 5 years ago.

It would usually take 3 to 4 years because you have to wait on your recruiting class while coaching the previous coach players.

Prime came at a perfect time with the NIL and transfer portal era

TYRONE GA!
If JSU could’ve scrounged up some real $$$ the would’ve been better off putting it into the shít the school needs, infrastructure projects and acquiring real estate. Prime wasn’t staying there.

You see the next level facilities these big programs have and that shít is enticing for the coaches the same way it is for the players. And the support staff that you never see is a damn luxury because every thing is taken care of — and it’s like the football program is a separate kingdom from the school itself.

I’d love to see JSU and any black school get a wholesale set of changes for their athletics programs but the reality is that the core functions of these schools need it way more. Alumni giving is routinely low, endowments are non existent and you have some students with very iffy campus housing situations. These big conference schools are light years ahead and their bag men keep them that way — not to mention well connected alums.
So many people I know who went to HBCUs are still salty he left. Thinking he woulda turned things around for HBCU athletics had he stayed.

This is the USA and money talks. The gap in money is too damn great man like you said. The money and facilities are too hard to pass up for anyone. It's one thing if you can get the money closer but the facilities are in a whole nother league. It's asinine to also think a great recruit is gonna pass up the kind of bread these pwi boosters have.

Cats kill me wanting people to do some shyt they wouldn't do themselves

That's their form of hate knowing damn well the key decision-makers at HBCUs would not allow Deion to turn things around longterm.

HBCUs have been underfunded for decades. There's no way to make up the ground they lost to PWIs so we can't really blame HBCUs. It was on purpose. And today corporations will not give to HBCUs like they do PWIs because most of the people on their boards went to PWIs. White folks won't let black institutions/organizations outdo them as long as they control the money.
