North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Uh oh, Taylor Upshaw just left. Now he wasn’t a starter at Michigan but was a solid rotational player with heaps of experience who usually did his job. This is troubling and I want Deion to succeed.

Coach Prime is trying to win. It’s as simple as that. And he’s trying to win now. So whoever is transferring there will be held to a high standard. He also has a lot of rules. On and off the field.

And some players simply leave a school for the hell of it and don’t really think about what’s going to happen.

I hope it’s a fit issue and not a coaching one. Upshaw was a rotational piece on a Big Ten championship team. A team that’s sent multiple defensive ends into the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft.

So what. If he doesn't fit in what Prime is trying to do is not going to work no matter what. Rotational players can be replaced easily. Pretty much any position in college can especially with the portal.

From what I'm hearing Nikko Reed is the biggest loss. But Prime will replace him with someone better.

You can plug missing pieces from the portal, no team is winning building totally from the portal. Colorado has 22 players on scholarship and the players they are bringing in are bench or role players from mid tier programs who didn’t even get a chance to go through Spring ball.

The good portal players go to the good teams. Who has Colorado got to portal in that’s elite?

I hope at the end they get to how he explains to his OC that he's good enough to be his OC at JSU but not good enough to be his OC at Colorado and why he went and got dude from Kent St. I know Ol boy got a crazy pay raise going from JSU OC to CU WR Coach but still.....

Didn't think I had to spell it out. But I'm referring to the players that are leaving. They can be replaced by the portal.

They aren't elite. They aren't hungry. They can get the same star kid in the portal that is.

Dude flopped at Michigan then flopped at Colorado. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror when you don't work out at two different colleges.

This is apart of the process to sift out the weak. We are talking about an 1-11 team here. I don't know why people are shocked that there is a mass exodus. You have to change the culture and it starts with the players. Get the bums out. Get the kids that want to do the hard work in

Ok let’s say that somehow the 19 three stars he got from Jackson State, Kent State and Old Dominion are the hungry diamonds in the rough.

How do you expect to build cohesiveness/team identity and install a complicated game plan without spring ball?

22 scholarship players. I don’t care if it was 22 five stars. You can’t build a team with no practice time.

I don't see how hard to understand that purging is apart of the process. This isn't a one year thing.

There were under 100 kids there and like like 40 left and got some kids from the portal. That's more than enough players to get started. You got the whole damn summer to get that chemistry.

This is just the initial stage. Mass exodus ain't happening ever year. I don't expect Deion to do great his first season. This is a total rebuild and he's going about it the right way.

Dumping 90% of your team on the street ain’t no process I ever heard of. Having barely enough scholarship players to field a team when you can’t even have live contact until August ain’t no process I ever heard of.

I’ll tell you what I have heard of, new coaches generating buzz and headlines they first off season yet when the season starts and they getting smacked by 30-40 points and that buzz the 2nd year isn’t there no more.At the end of the day I hope Prime fools us all but this first year they are gonna get the breaks beat off them.

Getting the elite is what regular recruiting is for. Transfer portal is to turnover talent. You have to consider that some pundits considered CU to have the worst roster of any power 5 program. Almost anyone they get from the portal is going to be better than those they lost.
