There's probably someone who can better articulate growth of mega corporations that own these networks, from the 90's, Ted Turner, Rupert Murdoch, whoever else---and tie the increasing divisive and counter news programming to mergers, and companies going public, it's all for ratings. Was never a serious cable news person but from 2011 to 2018 or so I watched on occasion.
It's all a show, it's not really news. I read the Times, and the WSJ. Yes, there's some bias there, but it's not like the full on your side or mine that cable news is. These hosts are foaming at the mouth half the time.

I haven’t watched that shyt in years.
I just threw faux news out there because that’s what I used to do when I would watch cable news.
Now at most I’ll listen a clip or two from Valuetainment just to stay in the mix regarding what the “new” / next generation of conservatives think / how they defend their positions.
It’s interesting to say the least because they’ll complain about the same shyt democrats are.

Well forget fox news for a second. For example I bet me and you and the majority of HL do not watch CNN to get news or info. And probably haven't in years. Also most people in HL are well verse or at least understand everything from what a platform is to the meaning of the Overton window for example.
What I'm saying is, why would you need to learn "new" conservative talking points? What are you remotely gaining from that? Based off the knowledge and experience you have in this country you can probably explain and repeat conservative talking points to most conservatives you have met in real life. And there isn't anything really new they're saying. Some are just taking the mask off and being more bold. Some are simply repackaging the same BS and misinformation. Why do we have entertain the very people who are pushing for the destruction of current version of America one way or the other?
Also this isn't personal, more of a general take for whoever is lurking

So I know what talking position is going come with. Like I said, its not everyday or all day activity probably a few clips a week I'll listen to largely to see if I can pick apart the argument.
