First off let me hold the L on my Walmart take. I wasn’t wrong about the thefts but that’s not the reason why they are closing. I’m just seeing right wing outlets running wild with the theft narrative and showing footage from George Floyd riots like it’s happening recently. Also, something got be done about these kids man. There is no way in hell 20 years ago we would be mobbed up like that just creating havoc downtown. Media running wild with that cac who got stomped out. shyt is about to get ugly this summer

20+ years ago we was getting locked up for far less. This will be a brutal summer of high school kids killing one another. Pray for the children

Chimaobi Eniya (the brother of Amara Eniya who ran as a full-blown progressive during the 2019 mayoral election) is getting sued by Vallas. Apparently Chimaobi was given money to bring in the black vote and Vallas is tryina recoup the $680k (!) that was given to him. He doesn't even really have political credentials outside of his sister, so it seems like a real waste of money.

Snippet:
Veteran Democratic strategist Tom Bowen said the level of fraudulent campaign spending alleged in Vallas’ lawsuit is unprecedented and underscores how desperate Vallas was to make inroads into the Black community. It also shows how little oversight his campaign had over the $18 million avalanche of contributions that came pouring in from the business community after his first-place finish on Feb. 28, Bowen said.

“If he set $700,000 on fire with a very atypical campaign vendor to try to win votes in the Black community like that, that is possibly the stupidest thing anyone in Chicago politics has ever done,” said Bowen, who served as a senior adviser to Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s campaign and as political director for former Mayor Rahm Emanuel in 2012.

Based on the article, Chimaobi basically hit him w/ the "I aint got it" :lolbron:

I heard Vallis paid a organization $700k to bring home the vote. But nobody said who it was. Thank you for the information.

This the interesting part though

Towne and veteran campaign consultant Joe Trippi acknowledged Vallas’ path to victory relied, in part, on Vallas’ ability to win at least 30% of the Black vote and minimize Black turnout. Though Vallas received endorsements from veteran Black alderpersons, that goal was ultimately far out of reach
