What's the highest ranked person y'all beat on chess.com?

I've beat a 1400+ ranked guy a time or two, plenty of others in the ranges below. Highest I've been ranked is ~900 tho.

I beat the AI on 1800 once, and played it to a few draws, but it took like 80 losses to do so :russ:

given the depth of the literature and research in chess, where is the room for growth in the sport?

shyt like alpha zero playing games in ways that even the top players are confused
Nowadays they give the computers known scenarios and see what direction they go

1400 on what timing? One minute bullet, three minute blitz or longer games? I don't have the patience for those. Most I do is three minute games. I be playing bullet in the bar when drunk.
My bullet is about 1600 cause I was going it on a laptop and speed is important. It's been around 1900 prior when I'm serious but I feel that's kinda mid. My blitz is at 1900.
My problem is the next step of seriously studying openings getting their mid game concepts and getting an arsenal will be time-consuming

shyt, I play Dailies.

I occasionally play 10 minute games, but I find I don't use nearly half that time so I could probably do 3 minute.

I prefer more time to think than the quicker games.

I prefer the fast games just to be able to challenge myself to process stuff faster.
So there is some level to thinking there. It's not just bullshytting around. Instinctively knowing where to go and developing a plan

Oh 1000% there's thinking involved...it's just hard for me to process that fast. I do better than I thought I would tbh. I still tend to be a little fast and loose in the daily games too.

Do you know the basic rules? How the pieces move, etc.?

Get the chess.com app, it's great learning tool. I was taught how to play on an actual board, but I have to imagine the app has something to outline the rules from a complete beginner standpoint. Once you know the basics on how pieces move, there are lessons and puzzles to help you learn things like Pins and Forks, how to best exchange pieces, etc.

If you do know the basics, the app will have you play a few AI games to see what level you're at, assess you a ranking, then have you play similarly ranked players so you're not getting blasted by masters, or playing noobs

lmk cuz I'll fukk you up on there

I'm impatient during the daily games cause you know what someone might do but they take forever to make that one move. It gets to a point you want to tell them the square and the piece and the sequence cause both of you aware wsup anyway.

I'm actually doing bullet right now and this bruh style of play just annoys me

Guys who play bullet and just want to blockade everything and bait you into locking everything up. But he slipped up

I was playing middle, developing and expanding and he was busy fukking around on the side trying to be clever.

At some point he went hari-kari and just started putting his pieces to places to be captured. Straight Gave up

I missed mate with queen to c8 anchored by the knight

I have something like 25 open daily games, so thankfully I'm rarely hanging on one move. But I do know exactly what you're talking about.

The all time WOAT maneuver is when someone is losing, but finds a way to put you in check, and they just keep checking and re-checking with the same move until the computer calls a draw. I've run into highly ranked players that pull that shyt when they see they're about to lose.

I don't care about my ranking or my win/loss record. I know I can compete an hang with most people. The regular games I play are almost always against players ranked significantly higher, so I have 1 win for every 5 they have.

That's not foul that's part of the rules. If you are ahead make sure you are not In a position to be put into perpetual check.

It's one of the considerations to have. Happened to me when I'm ahead and I'm like :francis:

I think I have a game like that I was leading and that shyt happened. Let me check my archives

Check out this #chess game: 4instance vs Pointingthingsatking - Chess: 4instance vs Pointingthingsatking

If I play queen e2 instead of pushing the pawn it was over. Then he got perpetual

What's the most amount of points you've been down but come away with a win?

I remember I was -13 with this guy with 2 queens but eeked out a checkmate with my pawns. He got hyper focused on greedily getting a third queen not realizing I was pinning him with pawns
