I need to check out one of these. Also where does one go to meet new people here?
Good question breh. To be fair, I don't know lol. My advice is pretty generic, just frequent spots/things you enjoy doing. Having an IG/Snap probably helps cuz that's the first thing I'm usually asked for when chopping it up. I have neither.

What city you coming from? If it wasn't your hometown do you find it more difficult to meet new people here?

So I'm sure this has been done a thousand times on here but I'ma ask anyway. I'm relocating to Charlotte sometime in the next 6 months. I got a family and a wife that would prefer the semi suburban life to the middle of the city, especially since it looks like property in the city is pretty pricey. I've been making lists of the different suburbs, the black populations there, etc. Got a homie that just recently moved out there and they live in Huntersville and like it ok. So my question to yall is what general areas are good to look at that has solid schools and isn't too far from things. My wife likes the burbs but not the country. We wanna be near shopping, grocery stores, etc. Seems like most places are no more than 15-25 mns from downtown so that works but without boots on the ground idk where to look

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in general suck, unfortunately. But it really depends on what your budget looks like. Our friends live up around the University, Mallard Creek/Winthrow Downs area and there is some good grocery stores and everything. More of us live up there. It gets more expensive in southern charlotte, and it gets more :mjpls: but the schools/shopping is better. Most of us live in the northern parts of the county, especially around the university area.

If you've got the credit and everything its a good time to buy because a lot of houses are getting prices knocked off, drops by 10-50k off of the list price, plus more depending how you could negotiate after they take your offer. A house in my development went for 150k off list price because of these interest rates.

Charlotte in general is not country but the people are country, i moved here in 2020 from DC. The people here are backwards sometimes. I'm happy to elaborate here or on pm

wifey is pregnant so no but to address what I said @Verbal Kint

What i meant is nuanced and so pleas give me some grace.

When i moved here i realized I generally equated accents with intelligence. Like i said im from PG county md where the accentless aspect of american english is prominent. What usually was the case is if someone back home presented with an accent they were from the absolute boonies and couldn't keep up.

When i moved here i was surrounded by accents, even of people in CEO type positions so I had to break that accent correlation to have substantive relationships with people. However, now that I've been here for a good minute i can see that there was validity into that.

Mostly the pace is slower. People talk slower generally. If you are quick-witted then you'll see what I'm saying, its not a bad thing, it is just a thing. Things are just slower, the way people think is slower, the infrastructure was created when life was slower (how do none of these traffic lights operate in sync? major intersections on pressure plate traffic lights????) but thats not a bad thing. No one is dumb, just country.
