Facts!
I lived in the A for 4 years after i graduated, and cats use to always say the QC was "the next Atlanta". Though i loved the A for what it was (what better city to live in after college with expendable bread), Charlotte is a pretty cool city.

I tell friends of mine thats thinking of moving here, for me, it's a city without an identity...in the sense you can pretty much make whatever life you trying to make on your own terms. Tons of events...lots of parks...2 major sports teams (and you can get tickets relatively cheap)...lots of lanes you can choose as far as nightlife and/or leisure. We got an Uptown...we got lakes if you fish...strip clubs if you wish, and Atlanta aint that far a trip (or beaches for that matter.)

Like @Skillz was saying, there's a ton of economic growth and all kind of building going on, (expansion and traffic congestion) but the COL here is higher than Atlanta, depending on where you're looking to stay.

Should definitely take a trip to experience it for yourself.

Wassup! How was the commute & your first day? One of my old coworkers work/live in Salisbury, shyt might be the same company. She invited me out but I had to pass cuz that shyt was pushing an hour on a weekend. Old girl definitely lied to you.

Wassup bro. My homegirl was in Atlanta for like 4 years before she moved here. She says Atlanta is better for black people, the culture better, the food better.
Economic growth, it's booming right now. There is an issue with affordable housing. Dating, I think this will depend on what you're looking for. There's good looking women to keep you occupied. Can't speak on the culture. Lots of breweries? Can't speak on the schools either but I heard they vary greatly.

You seem to love Atlanta. I wouldn't make that jump without checking Charlotte firsthand.

I start next week. Haven’t started yet.

Is Charlotte is a solid black city?

I was in Atlanta for 5 years, loved it, then joined the military. I’m getting out next year.

Atlanta is insanely crowded but I love it. My homegirl went to NCAT and raves about it.

Just wanted an honest opinion on Charlotte for a young Breh trying to make a way in the world

As someone who has split all of their life between North Carolina and Georgia (Decatur to be exact)

I think NC is a better overall state for black people. Atlanta has small pockets of wealth with a lot of blacks but compared to the triad (Greensboro, Winston Salem, high point),Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham; Atlanta doesn’t even come close.


Atlanta is a city of black excellence while North Carolina is a whole state.

I live in Highland Creek. About 5-8 minutes away from Concord Mills. I've done all of my interviews via skype but the boss told me she lives in South Charlotte and that it takes her 40 minutes to get there, and that I'm the half way point, so it should only take me twenty minutes. Don't tell me this bish is already lying.

Depending on what part of south CLT it’s going to be a nice little ride. At least you’re close to 485 though

Salisbury seemed to calm down but they had a lot of shootings going on and people there are fighting over a big ass confederate statue there... They have a black mayor(she’s cool AF) and crime has seemed to go down

Finally found my apartment .

Its only five minutes away from where I'm staying now. It's in the southpark section of Charlotte. It looks nice around here I guess and my commute to work in the morning isn't too shabby.

It’s not a bad drive from your area really. I know they just opened up those extra lanes so that should definitely help. Traffic be on that bullshyt at 4pm though.

Okay! Thank you. My last job was in steel creek and wasn’t that bad of commute, just 30 minutes. Can’t take an hour long commute.
