That’s definitely a prime area for shopping and shyt. I think they want to put apartments there or a school or something :snoop:

Lowkey That was supposed to be 'our' shyt.
Someone should have jumped on that opportunity. Black real estate moguls could have been BANKING off of that area. shyt a rapper or a Athelete could have as well. You telling me Steve Smith , Cam Newton, Kemba Walker , Jordan and some of the other Panthers/Hornets players couldn't have put there resources together to purchase that real estate to basically renew the shopping center then have the income trickle down to the community? :gucci:

The malls infrastructure was already built. The stores in the mall was already there. All was needed was some renovation....that's it:francis:

East Way , Sharon Amity, Albarmare Rd, some of Central and Shamrock would have been popping with All of that revenue. I know you see some people hustling selling furniture in that area by the corner. All of that flourishing just been flushed down the toilet. This whole shyt is disgraceful :hhh:

Yeah man it’s crazy smh. The city keeps coming up with these different proposals but won’t get moving on something. I wish some of the athletes would come together to do something because obviously the city don’t care that much about the area. I’ve heard so many possible things going out there... a school, apartments, a soccer complex, etc. something needs to go out there to give a nice shot in the arm for East Charlotte

I’ve never had this happen to me at all since I’ve been here. what part of Charlotte do you stay in?

I stay in University City repping that QC-UC:wow:

But this has happened to me at the gas station on Graham, Uptown, a few of them on Statesville near between Mr Charles Chicken & Fish up to Sunset, and like 2 other places.

That shyt makes me so mad cuz you feel exposed. That’s why for years when I pull up I’m surveying the area

Cuz you never know if it’s a bum or a legit car jacket like what happened a few years back to some girl

Everytime I pass by Dalton Food Mart and that Exxon on N Tryon I see the same people posted up so much, you would think they're club security

They're going to give all those homeless people their eviction notice soon. Inner North Tryon, Graham St, and Statesville Ave all going the way of the NODA area

That PF by central is still there. Eastland is basically a wasteland now. How do you have an slot of prime real estate ready for a whole mall and leave that shyt empty for 10 years? One of these lottery winners should renovate that area with new urban stores , arbitrage spots and local black kiosks. What the hell are y'all doing 10 years smh..:stopitslime:
Eastland mall wasn't a part of the gentrification plans. So it had to go. It had the wrong racial makeup once the mexicans pulled up. :mjpls:

Nationally, black-owned businesses average $58,000 a year, compared with $546,000 earned by white-owned businesses, according to a 2017 report by Prosperity Now. A 2018 survey showed that even while their businesses were profitable, challenges remain related to the operation of black-owned businesses. In Forbes’ annual list of worldwide billionaires published earlier this month, just four out of 607 Americans were black.

Yet, on a local level, the directory for the Charlotte Black Chamber of Commerce receives about 15,000 page views a day, which is how Shanté Williams, chairperson of the CBCC board of directors, knows the Queen City wants to engage with black-owned businesses. “The first thing we’re always trying to tackle is awareness,” she said. “Where can we create a repository so people can find them easily?”

To help facilitate that much-needed awareness, CharlotteFive pulled together a list of restaurants, bars and shops owned by members of Charlotte’s black community. Of the estimated 13,000 businesses in this city, we highlight 31 brick-and-mortar locations within 20 minutes of Uptown.

Beyond what’s here, Williams said one of the best ways to seek out more of Charlotte’s black-owned businesses is by going to events. “Show up to networking events planned outside your own network,” Williams said. “One of the things we’re trying to be cognizant of is trying not to host exclusively ‘black business’ events. There are so many chambers in the city — the Latino Chamber, Black Chamber, Asian-American Chamber. We should work with all of them.”
