Those first 4-6 EPs were hilarious. The reactions in the thread had me 
shyt got beyond predictable though, people can't be that naive. Gotta watch it like a scripted show as opposed to a reality one.

I want to see this one to question the validity of it, its 2013 and catfish is on a nationally recognized cable show so how could you watch it and still not say "hey let me search for their name or pics".

A lot of it has to be scripted. If they fly all the way out to see the catfish victim and the catfish either stops responding, flakes or doesn't agree to be on TV, they have a ton of footage they can't use and a lot of costs they can't recoup.
I'm thinking all of the sides have to already be in contact and in on it before they start filming and make the "first contact" to the catfish.
