Matchroom is hurting big time right now and no one is mentioning it. Their entire summer schedule was showcased around Conor Benn.
The amount of posts and promo that Conor Benn is getting on DAZN’s IG, you would think he’s the second coming of Floyd.
Eddie has all but aborted any US plans as well.
Can you imagine the criticism PBC would get if they had 2 months straight of the BS matchroom has been putting on?
Lol it's mad some of the stuff said on here. It's crazy, I'm in touch with what's going on in boxing globally and speak with a lot of these people, what you said isn't accurate at all.
Matchroom are doing incredibly, they are absolutely running boxing right now. There are other big players too of course but Matchroom/DAZN are the global force that is making major moves on a worldwide basis bigger than anybody else by a distance.
Got a few things to do now, but will quickly get into it. You said Matchroom's ENTIRE summer schedule was based around Conor Benn? What? Lol. You do realise they have Anthony Joshua vs Usyk on 25th of September on PPV? In a stadium with over 60 thousand people. That is their biggest fight of the year so far, and probably at all.
The first Fight Camp show was received very well, it's true in U.S those fighters weren't big names at all but the show the large majority of people enjoyed and it was a world title fight, a regular belt true but there's an asterisk with that due to the situation regarding the other belt and it not being defended. That's a fight that impacts that division as Xu Can was rated as one of the top 3 in that weight class and was gonna fight Warrington for the The Ring belt prior to him losing.
Talking of that Warrington is rematching Lara on September 4th at a stadium with over 20 thousand. Katie Taylor is on that bill defending the Undisputed title and also Conor Benn vs Granados is to be rescheduled for that show most likely if he recovers in time.
They have a Joshua Butasi headline on 14th of August. Fowler vs Liam Smith which is a big domestic fight for that city on 9th of October. They have a Dillian Whyte fight they are working on, Devin Haney and also of course if Canelo doesn't fight Plant they will be doing Canelo vs Bivol too which is another weight class up against a champion. I feel like Canelo probably beats Plant and Bivol, but Bivol is a weight class higher, he wants to fight Beterbiev too apparently, that would be big because Beterbiev has great power so can sell that fight.
Matchroom have just got another near a billion deal just for U.K rights, they've got mad partnerships that have been going on. They are absolutely firing at the moment and the biggest force in boxing, it's not close.
I personally like everyone cause I'm just a boxing fan not of any one group, PBC have stepped it up and have some good fights and big events coming such as Spence vs Pac. Top Rank have been a bit slow recently, but globally Matchroom are killing shyt, doing shows all over the world. They are the force in boxing at the moment, but there's room for everyone.
