Dan Rafael chat wrap 4/14:
- Optimistic GGG vs. Canelo happens in September. If Canelo doesn't fight GGG next, guesses next most likely opponent is Lemieux.
- The ref said he didn't stop the Usyk-Hunter fight because he didn't see a telling blow, but he was close to stopping it.
- PBC has a big enough roster that they should put on consistently better shows.
- Duran vs. Lomachenko at 135? Let's settle down. Duran is the best ever at 135 and Lomachenko has never fought at that weight.
- Hasn't heard anything on Figueroa in a long time.
- Hearing that 154 will be one of the weight classes that could get a tournament from Schaefer's announcement. Also, maybe supermiddleweights and/or cruiserweights.
- Remembers sitting ringside with Kevin Iole and they were counting the low blows Salido was hitting Lomachenko with. It was that bad.
- Joe Smith vs. Gvozdyk? Thinks Gvozdyk wins.
- Believes Gvozdyk could hang with Kovalev and Ward.
- Porter vs. Berto? Favoring Porter.
- Cotto's fight likely will be on regular HBO. Hearing Kamegai's name being mentioned.
- Chocolatito likely to get a rematch vs. Sor later this year.
- Joshua vs. Klitschko will be shown on Showtime live and HBO tape delay. Both will have their own commentary crews. Ring announcer will be Buffer.
- His feeling that HBO is trying to hurt Showtime's ability to promote Joshua vs. Klitschko.
- Buy or Sell Manny KO's Horn? Buy.
- Would still like to see Bradley vs. Khan.
- Lomachenko's ratings were just okay. That time slot used to do 1 million plus consistently.
- RocNation will lose money for the Ward vs. Kovalev fight. Ward is supposed to get $7 million.
- Could see Ward vs. Kovalev 2 doing more buys than their first fight, but not breaking 200k.
- Single most electric moment he has experienced in boxing was when JCC dropped Martinez in the 12th. Crowd went crazy.
- Selby is probably an underdog vs. all top 126 and 130 lb fighters.
- Pavlik vs. Paul Williams? Williams.
- Since Barrera is ducking Beterbiev, Michel is looking at getting Koelling to fight Beterbiev.
- Not an impressive fight for Flanagan last week. Would be an underdog vs. Linares and Garcia. Would be the favorite vs. Verdejo.
- Burns vs. Indongo? Indongo is the better puncher, but Burns has the home crowd and the better boxer. Leaning Burns.
- Lomachenko vs. Arguello? Lomachenko easily.
