Wilder broke his hand and came back and fought and undefeated contender. What do you spar for if you need all these tune ups. He’s going to be a year and 2 months before he even fights a tune up. Dude won’t fight another relevant fight until 2019.

Sparring isnt a fight and they did not have the same type of injury so you cant compare. Even if theu did have the same injury evevyone heals different. I want to see the fight as well but i want the best version of both guys.

Vargas was a good tuneup though breh. On paper there's no way he can beat Thurman.

Besides, if Keith hadn't routinely pulled that once a year shyt we wouldn't be here.

I dont think Vargas is a tune up he is an okay guy. Unless we talking about a different one than the one Bradley fought.

Three surgeries. Two on his hand and one for his torn bicep.

Thurman's problem is a) he drinks and b) he blows up between fights. That's why that mid-section would get eviscerated by Spence if they fought. Spence has to be careful though. He sometimes admires his body work a little too much and doesn't bring his hands back up top as quickly for my tastes. Something Thurman could exploit as he's the speedier of the two.

I think Vargas is like a slightly better version of Algieri. He was better before BATB and Manny exposed him. I don't think a recovering Thurman has any issues at all w Jessie.

I agree, but here's why I think Spence is to be favored. Although his hands come back a little slow, when he's working, and hedon't really like to move his head, he's a master of subtlety controlling the distance. Spence truly works off the jab, as he starts with it, waits to see if you can counter it, and then moves forward from there. By the time Spence is putting his 2nd or 3rd shot after the jab, and you're not reciprocating, you're in trouble. The question against Thurman is can he survive the chin check? Spence is there to get hit esp w an overhand right, but so far he's taken them and kept walking forward. Will Thurman be any different?

Thurman's a bigger puncher than anybody Spence has faced

Except for that brief moment at the end of the 7th round in the Lartey fight. Lartey wasn't a puncher nor a true welter when they fought. I'm just saying that he just needs to fine tune some things.

What's your opinion on ocampo?

I still need to check more of him cause he is really an under the radar guy, nobody really talked/talks about him... that usually means he isn’t any outstanding but I need to check. Not sure if I ever saw a full fight of the guy.

I agree with you. @King P I know Thurman's the best boxer and biggest puncher he's faced that's why I put the ?

Exactly. Kell Brook’s the biggest puncher he faced & visibly hurt him at least twice that fight. If Thurman can land (which we know he will at some point) it could change the fight totally. I’m not so sure Spence can take the same shots Porter ate
