He's really good to be just 18 years old. He works the body well out of clinches, explosive speed, and a good left hook. Right now what I like the most is he's being active.Last night was his 18th fight. Looking at his entourage, he's got some money behind him despite not having a major promoter, and that's allowing him to travel the country and get on cards (he's fighting in Atlantic City next month). Young fighters need as much experience as possible.
Far as flaws, he has the tendency to not use his jab enough despite having a good one. Last night, he got enamored with his speed too much and tried to lead with right hands and got caught a few times. Won't cost him at this level but that's a bad habit to develop.
He's been trash talking lately with Gervonta (including all this weekend) but I'd say Haney is still a year and a half away from mixing it up with top contenders.
