Davis vs. Salido Being Eyed For Mayweather-McGregor PPV?

Two days ago, BoxingScene.com reported that Orlando Salido (44-13-4, 31 KOs) agreed to the financial terms for a rematch with WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, for a date of August 5th on ESPN.
However, Salido's manager -Sean Gibbons - mentioned that several loose ends needed to get resolved in order to finalize that agreement.
But now a report has surfaced that Salido is under serious consideration as the next opponent for IBF super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis (18-0, 17 KOs), who is being positioned for the Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard to the big card featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr.vs. Conor McGregor on August 26th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
According to ESPN Deportes, citing sources that are close to Salido, the big issue in finalizing the rematch with Lomachenko is not the money - but the date.
Lomachenko wants to fight in early August, while Salido prefers to return in late August.
A fight with Davis would also present a very lucrative opportunity for the Mexican veteran.
Salido fought on Mayweather's undercard in September 2015, when he battled Roman Martinez to a controversial twelve round draw for the WBO super featherweight title at the MGM Grand. Mayweather dominated Andre Berto in the main event and retired afterwards.
Salido saw action late last month when he returned to the ring in Mexico, and got off the floor to stop Aristides Perez.
Davis traveled to London late last month to make a mandatory defense of his title with a one-sided destruction of previously undefeated Liam Walsh at Copper Box. Salido is not ranked in the top 15 of the IBF, so it will be interesting to see how all of that shakes out. He is, however, ranked at number one under the WBO to Lomachenko, and he's also ranked in the number two position under the World Boxing Council.
