Chavez jr gonna get the piss beat out of him.next weekend. Cant believe ppl are taking this fight seriously.

the bolded i couldn't agree more...for all the HBO bashing that does go on in here with how its been handling boxing, this fight is a perfect example of HBO's ineptitude. This isn't a fight of any significant quality because one half of the marquee hasn't had a significant performance worth a damn in years. HBO backs a fight like this yet rejected a TR card full of young gun champions plus a debut of an olympian. Which turned a good card with a FOTY candidate IMO in valdez-marriaga. Not even trying to put it on HBO Latino at least and its a shame.

Now if you're a jr stan like yawn or choc, i can understand and not really talking to them. They are long suffering as it is and this fight represents Jr's last chance to live up to his name, potential, whatever. The canelo stans should have been bashing this bullshyt the moment it was announced. Considering how many quality fighters "Mr. i'm not a middleweight" could pick from 154. Its a cherry pick, cash grab.etc. But competitive it shouldn't be and if it is, a certain redhead's rep will take a big hit.

wow, you really don't like Canelo :dwillhuh:

I think while his recent choice of opponents can be criticized he still has a better resume and fought better names by the age of 26 than many-many other active fighters.
I also think he gonna KO Chavez and it won't be that competitive but I can't get mad at this fight. There are fights which just make too much sense economically that I can't even get mad they do them. This is that type of fight. Plus while I think Chavez is below Canelo in skills you must remember that this guy, Chavez competed in 175 not so long ago while Canelo is rather a middleweight realistically. Chavez' true weight class is probably 168 so there you have the size advantage for Chavez which makes this fight less of a bullshyt imo...

think about it breh..haymon hasn't even put Jr on a PBC card yet..his last fight wasn't televised on any major US channel..and now he's on a PPV..i know the game..its a cash grab for HBO. If Jr loses, Haymon has a figuratively speaking "damaged goods" fighter he's going to have to promote going forward
