JCC Jr ain't taking no fight vs Canelo and not receiving a split of the TV revenue....especially knowing it's going to do huge the Mexican TV numbers
Exactly. But people will be thrown off by the $5 million number. If he got a split of Mexican TV money he probably eats that much just off that.

And for reference Dan said he expected Canelo-JCC to do over 500k. 500k at $70 is $35 million. Half goes to the fighter/promoter pot, $17.5 million. And that doesn't include any sponsorship, ticket sales, and Mexican TV rights.

$5 million is peanuts.

On the GGG vs Jacobs fight

I think the key to victory for Danny here is to look at the Lemeiux fight. GGG while overrated to me, can fight and has skills. More than anything else he respects power. Now mind you DL was a piss poor pure boxer and got killed with a jab, but he needs to approach this fight knowing GGG is going to be trying to box with his jab and respecting Danny's power. Danny has enough amateur experience to box with him. I just hope he manages his chin. He's more open than having a bad chin to me.

Above all, as Brook showed and to an extent Monroe Jr. , GGG is VERY susceptible to uppercuts. I think he needs to clinch everytime possible and have controlled aggression. Danny is very fast and athletic. He should make it a mission to hit GGG's body every chance he gets circling to GGG's left to avoid that overhand right and as soon as he jabs aim squarely for the body. He needs to avoid a firefight....unless he lands a nice clean boy that clearly staggers Golovkin.

I dont agree with that in the sense of that is assuming g a Canelo-JCC sells more than a GGG fight...if you think JCC then he should sell more. That is an argument for why a percentage is the most fair deal. Come up with a fair percentage split and fighters get what they earn by selling a popular event.

I actually think a Canelo-GGG fight is worth more than Canelo-JCC. I think vs. JCC probably doesn't do much more in Mexico than a GGG fight. They will already be tuning in to watch Canelo, so the same fans will be buying either way. GGG probably brings more money and popularity selling in the European market than JCC.

Either way, let the free market take care of itself. Settle on a split and go get that money. Both those fights are too big for a flat fee. Fans need to realize a flat fee benefits the person giving out the flat fee, not the recipient. Unless you are Andre Ward and get $5 million plus guaranteed to fight Kovalev on a fight that lost money. :wow:
