UFC Prez Makes it Clear That NO Approval For McGregor Boxing! - Boxing News

I'm not a lawyer but I doN't get this.
How his contract can block him from competing in an OTHER SPORT?
UFC contracts don't influence other sports and their fighters relationship with other sport do they?
An other sport is like it would ne another country with other rules. American rules don't apply in Iran and vica versa. Hell even some American states' rules doN't apply in other states. So how does a UFC contract applies in boxing?
Organizations like UFC can control their fighters move INSIDE the sport itself which is MMA in this case but not their moves OUT of the sport art as far as I know. That would be surprising and also silly.
So how they gonna tell their fighter that they have a contract with him and he can't go boxing? How their contract has any effect on the sport of boxing? Sure if that guy one day would be "I go to Bellator" then they could tell him to fukk off cause Bellator is their rival inside the sport MMA and the contract can logically include that inside his sport he can only compete in UFC not elswhere, but with boxing I imagine it's different. Two different worlds with different rules, the rules of one doesn't affect the other.

By the way I can still find it hard to believe that this guy tries boxing, I doubt that he will but hypothetically I think any UFC fighter including him could do it cause I don't believe that UFC contracts can affect their fighters' moves outside of the sport itself. Except if they really included in his contract that he can't go to an other sport and I really doubt that happened. Same for boxing, I think if Loma, Crawford or Pac would wake up next day with the thought that they must try themselves out in UFC then Arum couldn't do shyt about that whatever that he has a contract with them cause he has a contract with them to boxing and not to all fighting sports.

Charles Martin is a disappointment. Even though he won that title on an injury, he was going to win it either way from the few rounds he did fight (though his opponent is notorious for getting controversial wins). He actually could compete with the heavyweights out here but got his soul crushed and pride destroyed by Black-British Excellence. He may go down as one of the worst world champions in heavyweight history, but that's his own fault.

His childish rants and ideals of being a musician fueled by drugs and denial are actually quite pathetic and sad......

...you got our people out here getting gunned down like deer and harassed everyday of the year, and I'm supposed to find humor in this? He's a fool, but we shouldn't be laughing AT our own, not now...

mormeck is up there with some of the worst technique i've ever seen from a boxer. mormeck was just sloppy but he gave us some memories in the sport.

i never thought to highly of him either...he kinda overachieved though..the fight where he won the belt from braithwaite was an upset to me

worcester used to get some dope cards at the dcu center back then and i lived like 5 mins away from there..shyt was one of my favorite cards i ever attended

VIRGIL HUNTER RESPONDS TO JOHN DAVID JACKSON'S PERCEPTION OF WARD'S VICTORY OVER KOVALEV; SAYS NEW EXCUSE BLAMING OWN FIGHTER
By Ben Thompson | December 06, 2016
virgilhunter2.jpg

BT: John David Jackson recently talked about some of the adjustments they plan on making for the rematch. Interestingly enough, he said the only thing Kovalev has to do is show up in better shape. I'm paraphrasing, but basically he said Kovalev couldn't finish Dre off because of his conditioning. Did you sense that Kovalev's conditioning wasn't up to par during the fight or is this possibly a case of Jackson making an excuse for Kovalev's performance?

VH: Well, how else can you look at it because that's all that's coming from his mouth, excuses. I don't want to be too hard on John David Jackson because he's got a tough enough job as it is, but I think he really should stay in his lane, like I said before, and get his end of it straight before he starts speaking in another lane. Yeah, I mean, at first, he says if he gets knocked down, if he feels Sergey's power, he's gonna run and he's gonna get gunshy; he ain't gonna wanna engage. Well, he got knocked down and we see that didn't happen. We see who folded and faded towards the end, and now since that's happened and you have to acknowledge it, now you're saying that a guy that you were with the whole camp, a guy that you were in Big Bear with, your fighter, you was with him the whole camp, you're saying that he wasn't in the best shape. My question to him is did you determine that after the fight or did you know before the fight what condition he was in? Mackie Shilstone was a great asset to our camp, but Mackie will tell you himself that Andre's stamina was already fight prepared before the camp even started. He just tweaked a little here and tweaked a little there. He's putting his foot in his mouth and I don't think that's a good thing to do. He's going from one extreme to the other. He's refusing to look at...well maybe he is acknowledging now that Sergey lost the fight. Maybe he's acknowleding that.

BT: It seems like he doesn't want to give Dre credit for making the necessary adjustments after the knockdown to change the tide of the fight.

VH: He's not going to give Dre credit, but what he doesn't realize is that he's putting the blame on Sergey Kovlaev and not himself. That's what he doesn't realize he's saying. He's putting the blame on Sergey Kovalev and not putting the blame on himself. You are in charge of him. But at the same time, as I said at the press conference before the fight, I said that there was disarray in the camp, so I think that proves it right there. Listen, I saw the fight on TV and John David Jackson didn't have a word to say to Kovalev after the 6th round. I think the other coach was doing all the talking and speaking in Russian. I know Jackson doesn't speak Russian, so I don't know what this guy was telling Sergey, but whatever he was telling Sergey, it was alright with him, it was alright with that coach, and it was alright with Sergey because Sergey never checked him and said, "Wait a minute, man, let my coach talk! What are you talking for?" He never checked him. He was more confident in this guy than he was in John David Jackson.

As far as what's going to happen in the next fight, that Sergey is going to knock him out and Andre can't get any better, I think he's going to have a very rude awakening. You didn't see the best of Andre in that fight, you didn't see how good he was, you saw who he was in that fight. No, Sergey cannot make anymore adjustments. Anything that he tries is going to be new to him and it's simply not going to work. It's going to make him think, and if he has to think, he's going to be a sitting duck. A rematch will not be anywhere near this kind of fight, no way!

“I’m honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and I’d just like to thank Jesus for giving me the tenacity to not quit.” - Evander Holyfield

"This is the best news for me. I’m very happy to hear this news that I have been inducted into the Hall of Fame and I am excited to go to Canastota!” - Marco Antonio Barrera

“I’m going to use his words. What he used to say is, it doesn’t matter how many times you fall, it’s how many times you pick yourself up to be successful.”- Teresa Tapia, wife of Johnny Tapia

“Awesome. That is amazing news. I think it is so extremely meaningful for my family. My mom was brought to tears when she heard that he was nominated. She is 94 years old now and I guarantee you she is going to be at the ceremony with so much pride. Our whole family will. We are thrilled and honored.”

- Jimmy Lennon Jr., son of Jimmy Lennon Sr.

“What an honor. It’s something you never think is going to be bestowed upon someone and when it is, it’s just a wonderful feeling not only for yourself, but for your family and the guys that were responsible for that happening and they were the fighters.”

- Johnny Lewis

“It feels terrific. I can’t describe it. I’m absolutely thrilled. I did a lot of title fights over the years – over 200. I’m thrilled.”

- Jerry Roth

“This is highest honor I could possibly receive. I have such respect for the International Boxing Hall of Fame. I’ve been a visitor so many times but next year will be special for obvious reasons. It serves as validation for a career that has been boxing, and pretty much nothing but boxing, for almost 40 years. I am truly touched and honored and I can’t wait until June.”

- Steve Farhood

“Wow. I’m really flattered. To be recognized by the boxing community in general and by my peers in the media in particular is the highest compliment I could be given as a broadcaster. You want the respect of your peers and that’s what I’ve always strived for. I couldn’t be happier.”

- Barry Tompkins
