the fukk? this aint gonna end good

Mommy Dionisia blames pastors for son

That’s what he gets for changing his religion,” Dionisia Pacquiao said in an interview in General Santos City.

Her son, Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao, had been losing sleep because of night Bible studies with “Protestant pastors.”

So he went to sleep in the middle of a 12-round welterweight fight with Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas on Saturday night (Sunday afternoon in Manila).

A short right to the chin during a close-quarters exchange toward the end of the sixth round felled Pacquiao. He was out cold for two minutes.

Pacquiao left the Catholic Church last year and went with a Bible-based movement whose members called themselves Christians.

They are not Protestants, but Mommy Dionisia refers to them as Protestants and she is furious every time they come to her son’s mansion in General Santos City and crowd around him.

“Since the Protestant pastors came into his life, he has not focused on his boxing,” Mommy D said. “They always pray, with Manny losing sleep.”

If the decision were hers to make, her son should retire from boxing after his stunning defeat. And he should go back to the Catholic Church.

“I hope he listens to me when he returns, and be a Catholic again,” she said.

Reform

A religious athlete who used to hear Mass before every fight, Pacquiao turned to the Bible to reform his ways. He gave up gambling and drinking and dropped extramarital affairs.

But late-night Bible studies took the place of the rest he needed to keep fit. That took a toll on his health, and his 33-year-old body was just not ready for a bulked-up Juan Miguel Marquez.

And he did not hear Mass before their fourth match. Instead he attended a Christian service held right in his hotel room in Las Vegas before the fight.

Mommy D disapproves of her son’s ditching Catholicism for another religion.

She remains unhappy about missing the canonization of Pedro Calungsod, the Philippines’ second saint, in Rome in October because her son did not allow her to go.

“He said he didn’t have money for my air fare, but with these pastors he’ll be poor,” she said.

“He better stop being a boxer and be a pastor instead,” she said. “He lost because God wanted him to.”

Reynaldo Clapis, a former village chair of Labangal in General Santos, thought so, too.

“It’s painful to see him sprawled on the canvas face down. But I guess, it’s God’s will. God wants to remind him to be frugal in spending his money,” Clapis said.

Now that Pacquiao lost again maybe he would not squander his earnings in politics, said the former barangay chair.

:smh: manny a good dude but he should just move to LA permanently and stop fukking around over there. he cares but apparently not even his country does

BOXINGTALK : DAILY BREAD MODAY EDITION: HAIL TO JM MARQUEZ 12-10-12

For some reason people who back Floyd, will make him victorious in a fight that someone else won. I never understood that line of thinking. Because Marquez beat Manny, now Manny would never have been a match for Floyd. If this line of thinking was correct, then Forman could have avoided Ali because Norton and Frazier beat Ali and he beat them. I just don’t get it. I even received a text last night saying, Manny doesn’t deserve 50/50 now. SMH. Of course he can’t get 50/50 now dummy.

I will say this and move on from Floyd because this was Marquez’s and Manny’s night. I overheard a great fighter say” If Floyd really wanted to fight Manny, then he wouldn’t let him fight so many tough fights because he can beat and ruin the payday. But Floyd doesn’t want to beat Manny, he wants to get Manny beat by someone else.”

Let's deal with the facts. If you can read you have eyes. The eye test tells us that the Marquez that fought a likely intentionally overweight Mayweather looked nothing like the animal we saw in the ring last weekend. You do you have eyes don't you? Other than Marquez, Mayweather was hurt by a rusty Shane Mosley. He adjusted in the same round, in which he was hurt, and to his credit, dominated a future first ballot hall of famer whose activity was inexcusable following his convincing win over Antonio Margarito. Andre Berto, pulling out of his scheduled fight with Mosley due to the earthquake, without any Mosley bout being rescheduled was disgraceful. And pardon my french but Berto returning to HBO with merely one questionable win over a legitmate boxer (Luis Collazo) before Shane Mosley tuned himself up going into the Mayweather fight that his promoter and partner Oscar De La Hoya/Golden Boy Promotions promoted was a f**king travesty. Mayweather followed up with Victor Ortiz, whom Golden Boy was attempting to cash out by moving him up in weight, and matching him with Andre Berto. The idea was to make Berto (with his one solid win) Mayweather's next opponent. Instead, we saw Ortiz give us the best reincarnation of a young Roberto Duran we've ever seen. Only to prove that performance an apparation, by mentally folding under the brightest of lights. This eerily resembled his debut as a Staples Center headliner vs. Marcus Maidana. Then we were surprised when a Miguel Cotto with less mileage than Pacquiao currently has gave him a competitive fight. And now we're waiting for him to fight Robert Guerrero. Guerrero is a solid fighter, but what's his career defining win? He began his career at 126, and shares the same signature win as Victor Ortiz after the fact. Compare that to Pacquiao's resume since October 2009 and you tell me why we haven't seen the fight. Only one party accused the other of being on something. Only one party allowed the other to take more risk, and according to Thomas Hauser's recent PED piece on Maxboxing.com, only one party folded like an envelope on their lawsuit.

BOXINGTALK : BOXINGTALK'S WEDNESDAY MAILBAG

Why would I mention Mayweather-Marquez 2 when I think Mayweather would easily win that fight again? You did notice I said he's managed to put DISTANCE between himself and the rest of the field without ever taking a single Pacquiao left hand didn't you? That means that Floyd Mayweather is currently the best pound for pounder BY FAR. I'm disappointed by how he created this distance but the path of least resistance and most reward has always been the Mayweather way. He's a boxer basing his legacy on an undefeated record. Manny Pacquiao was a hurricane blowing through divisions against one hall of famer after the other. He took the pound for pound throne by force and lost it for facing a guy who clearly had his number for a fourth time. Mayweather would never have a fourth fight with a guy that didn't get a single W in the first three. Different strokes for different folks.

Juan Manuel Marquez: Decision to fight again would be very tough

"It's the hardest decision of my life. I want to be calm, enjoy my family and make the best decision. Just yesterday I got home and told my wife:'Hey baby, one more fight.' and she said 'no, you left off that you were going to retire', and yes I said that, that regardless of the outcome I was going to retire, but we'll see.

Everything seems to be rosy, but we'll see what happeens. I would love to fight at Estadio Azteca.. It is a dream that many would like to achieve and maybe I will have the opportunity or maybe a fifth title win. It was a very difficult fight on Saturday, six rounds of fire, dangerous, severe punches, but logically we know that all the money in the world you can not buy another life, and it can not buy you another brain.

I do not want to end up like other fights have. I do not want to be part of that experience. I would retire as I am right now, physically and mentally well. I wanted to show who was who, I could not retire without proving who was better and it was proven on December 8. If I retire, I would be satisfied.

going out like that would be godly. the shyt meant so much to marquez, I feel like beating anybody else wouldn't even matter to him. for marquez, it's always been about pacquiao. when pac moved up, marquez said he would follow him up in weight until pac got the balls to fight him again. everybody thought he was crazy including myself. but damn...dude got out the last laugh out of everybody. it would be great if he went out like that, but arum gonna offer him too much money for a bradley, rios fight. can't see it ending here.

Khan gonna beat Molina. Just watch.

With Virgil Hunter as his new trainer, we are going to see a resurrection in his career.

And after that, I wanna see Khan v Garcia 2.

For me, Khan is the better boxer of the two. In the first fight, Khan was all over Garcia in the first few rounds and then Garcia rocked him out of nowhere and it went downhill from then.

If they fight again, Im confident that Khan will win.

Dude isn't good at all. He is overrated. Like a mothafukka. I just don't understand what you dudes see in him.

You need to watch that garcia fight again. Garcia was getting closer and closer with that hook. Once garcia adjusted to his speed he caught him.

Virgil hunter will be the new brother Nazim. nikkas will be all over him this thinking he is the ultimate boxing trainer. Dude is good but he isn't the answer for everybody.

I will agree if dude wanted to fight he would have fought him.

I can't agree with giving nikkas credit for fighting the Same person 4 times. They fought that many times be a useful many thought jmm women those fights. There is no need to fight a fighter you clearly beat.

Also let's not act like pacq and his team didn't think they were going to knock jmm out this time(3rd time to).

Not talking to you but in general I see nikkas given pacq props for 'taking' the jmm fight.
