The Berto/Ortiz fight played out exactly how I thought it would. Ortiz boxing and showing that he can still hurt Berto but unlike the first fight he gets caught and won't recover. Time for Ortiz to retire :francis:

Don't fully understand the majority draw in the Bute/Jack fight :dahell: although Jack really should have been more prepared to finish stronger in the 11th and 12th.

Mayweather: Chocolatito is The Pound For Pound Best in The World

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather gave a strong hint that he could be tempted back into the ring, but insisted only a "nine-figure" payday could lure him out of retirement.

The 39-year-old, who walked away from boxing with a perfect 49-0 record after out-pointing Andre Berto eight months ago, was ringside as a promoter of Badou Jack's WBC super-middleweight world title fight with Lucian Bute in Washington DC.

Mayweather told Showtime that while he was happy in retirement, he had not entirely closed the door on a return.

When asked if it would be for the money or the opportunity to take his record to 50-0, he replied: "Both. Yes, I'm happy to be where I'm at.

"Everyone is asking, asking me, 'Is Floyd Mayweather coming back? Right now, I'm happy on this side, but I've been talking and you just never know. But for now, I'm happy on this side. If I came back, of course, it would have to be a nine-figure payday and probably a championship fight," he added.

Since Mayweather's departure from the sport, the pundits have debated on the subject of which fighter should be considered the 'pound-for-pound' best in the world. Some observers list WBC flyweight champion Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez, while others list middleweight king Gennady Golovkin, Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward or even unified light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev. In the opinion of Mayweather, the fighter who took over the pound-for-pound throne is Gonzalez.

"Roman Gonzalez [is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world]. Chocolatito, Roman Gonzalez. He's unbelievable, a good puncher, a good boxer, a very good fighter," Mayweather said.

i think the tempo of the fight was more than what jack could handle usually..he gassed in those rounds but i thought he banked more than enough to win the fight clearly

Brehs Francisco Vargas, his team and everyone around his next fight is dirty as fukk
Vargas A sample tested positive by VADA and his B sample is likely to test positive too

But the fight is gonna continue cause how testing was set up
VADA can't do shyt besides catch you which is why certain people love em

Cause Vargas was caught Cali set up stringent secondary testing but
Vargas already benefited from cheating, still gets to fight and loses no money

Also folks on his team stay in trouble with glove tampering and hand wraps
Heard they even tried to pull that bullshyt vs kids in amateur tournaments

Like Vargas, Salido is a dirty fighter who loves to hit balls too but
He getting set up to get fukked up bad in this fight :mjcry:

Who is gonna win the Andre Berto sweepstakes?

A lot of guys out there looking for opponents that provide the biggest name with the least amount of risk, making Berto's value really high.

Danny Garcia looks like he wants that fight. I'm sure Broner wouldn't mind.

Berto has a lot of options. I'm sure he'll want a situation that provides him the most money.

Mayweather's company files for '50' trademarks

Floyd Mayweather might be thinking about coming out of retirement more than he is letting on.

Mayweather told Showtime on Saturday that while he's happy to be retired, he has "been talking with CBS and Showtime" about a potential return, "and you never know."

The company owned by Mayweather, who said he was discussing guarantees that would top $100 million if he returned, filed for trademarks to "TMT 50" and "TBE 50" on April 21, ESPN.com has learned. Records recently posted on the U.S. Patent & Trademark website confirm the filings.

Floyd Mayweather still is happily retired but admitted to having comeback talks with CBS and Showtime and said the numbers being floated for his return would have to be "upwards of nine figures."

"TMT" stands for "The Money Team" and "TBE" stands for "The Best Ever." If Mayweather fights again, it would be fight No. 50 of his career.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe could not immediately be reached for comment.

Mayweather Promotions is among the most aggressive athlete businesses, when it comes to dreaming up and seeking to protect trademarks. The company has more than 35 trademarks and has filed for more than 140 others.

Mayweather earned more than $220 million for his fight against Manny Pacquiao in May, a single-fight record take in boxing history. But his time in the ring ended with a sputter against Andre Berto in September, as pay-per-view sales were the worst in the six-fight deal with Showtime that completed his career.

Despite that ending and despite his tying Rocky Marciano's undefeated record of 49-0, Mayweather had insisted he would stay retired -- until he opened the door for a return with his comments Saturday.
:leon:

Still don't necessarily think it means we get a 50th fight soon (personally wondering how a non-Pacquiao fight nets Mayweather the 9 figures he mentioned). Mayweather as a smart businessman is preparing that it may happen and will be ready to cash in big inside the ring and outside of it off a 50th fight if it happens. Dude is a good businessman.

Bermane Stiverne

#CaseCatchers

:blessed:

And in case some of ya'll got something to say about his Wilder performance...... read this
Bermane Stiverne remains hospitalized after title bout with severe dehydration

Wilder wants no parts of a rematch and Anthony Joshua just dodged up out of his way, there's a reason why. Jarrell Miller almost caught that work after a hard workout in the gym, and anybody else in the way... gon' get that Hatian hook :whew:

If Berto beat Broner, that nikka @Newzz would commit that
