Bullshyt. Jennings is a great fighter. Especially for someone who didn't walk into a boxing gym until 25. His fight with Wlad was a lot closer than what the scorecards indicated. He stopped Szpilka who Wilder was struggling with until he erased him. Beat Perez. For Ortiz to stop him the way he did was impressive as fukk.

Like I said, the Cuban pedigree is what makes me view him highly. The Cuban school of boxing has the most gold medals in the amateurs by a WIDE margin for a reason.

I don't care when tf Jennings started boxing :rudy:

Beating Mike Perez N Artur Szpilka doesn't make you great :camby:

The ACTUAL Jennings Stans here would never call the nikka GREAT :dead:

Ortiz has ONE good W on his resume... ONE...N that W wasn't against Klit so no he doesn't deserve to be crowned shyt

He was also popped for PEDs :leostare:

"Bu bu bu but Gold medals, Fidel Castro, Pastelitos, Gloria Estefan" :beli:

I like Jennings and he is a solid heavyweight and one of the best Americans out, but I wouldn't call him a great fighter. Hell, He'd prolly tell you himself that he isn't a great boxer.

And lets keep it real. Ortiz was far from dominating dude. That fight was competitive as fukk until the stoppage.

But, I forgot this is the same place where nikkas be saying Khan was dominating Swift too before the KO.

Only Cuban boxer I ever really was a fan of was Cassamayor. Dude just had the right mix of skills, talent, power, quickness, and guts that a lot of these newer nikkas don't have. He had his fair share of stinkfests, but overall he was way more entertaining than dudes like Lara and Rigo. He'd actually bite down and shoot the fade when the going got the tough. He wasn't running laps or moonwalking around the ring when nikkas stepped up the pressure.

Ortiz got potential, but it's wayyyyy too early to crown him. Hell, Wilder got a title with an overall better resume and cats are just now starting to give him a break. shyt takes time.

No love for Gamboa?

I fukks with Gamboa. I always looked at him as a poor man's Sugar Shane though.

Thing is he was hot and cold. He'd look amazing one fight and then look so so during the next bout. Biggest thing that hurt his career was never getting that JuanMa fight. Arum knew what was up and just kept bullshytting us with the marinating routine and eventually fukked us outta a big fight.

I hear you. Gamboa was amazing when he was on. The thing was that he was the type to play down to his competition. He needs a dance partner. It's too bad he never got Juanma or Mikey. Would have been a great look. I used to be a big Juanma fan, but I knew Yuri would've beaten the shyt out of him.

But he definitely wasn't your typical boring Cuban fighter. Casamayor and Gamboa were 2 dudes that I find extremely exciting to watch. I feel like Barthelemy has the chance to be that type of fighter, even though I don't think he's as skilled as those 2

Erislandy Lara and Rances Barthelemy are dominant:heh:

For real.

That's why I don't buy into all that Cuban or regional shyt. It always comes down to the boxer/individual at the end of they day.

I mean how come Michigan doesn't get all that extra grand master skilled hype when they produced Toney, Bryd, and Mayweather. 3 of the best defensive boxers in the last 25 years.

I don't see Florida being talked about as some boxing utopia and they produced RJJ, Gainer, Tarver, Lacy, and Thurman.

we can go on and on with this shyt. :pachaha:

fukking Arreola can't do shyt right :snoop:

Really his whole career has been one big fukk up. I still remember how they tried to hype him up as the next great heavyweight (even though at the time it was clear as day that Eddie Chambers was 10x better).

I still remember Larry Merchant calling him the best American HW prospect since Riddikk Bowe :dead:

That's true. The type of Gamboa you got depended on who his opponent was. I thought he would have beaten the shyt outta JuanMa and be at least 50/50 with M. Garcia. Instead he gets his big break against a future p4p HOFer type cat in Crawford who's really a welterweight. :snoop:

Cassamayor/Gamboa are leaps and bounds ahead of any other Cubans in terms of excitement and skills (minus Ortiz for the moment)

WTF Chris do now. :mjcry:

Always been a fan of dude, but he took too long to take his career serious. He's past it and even though he slimmed down, he lost his strength and can't crack as hard as he used too. The Arreola we saw on the undercard of Floyd/Baldo was prolly the best version. He was quick, not too heavy and really let his hands go in combination.

but I digress.

dude eventually fell in love with the buffet :snoop:
