What I mean is Barrera can want whatever amount of money facing Ward, dont mean he deserves or has earned it.. If he rather wait for Ward and Kovalev to fight, so be it.. when Ward wins, he wont get $1 more than what was offered the 1st time... HBO dont need him.. when they were paying Ward opponents that much, that was back when Ward was still very active and could easily get 1million+ viewers on HBO. Those days are gone and Barerra is just a tune-up fight for Ward, he shoukds took his asswhooping for 300k(career high payday) and kept it moving...
HBO didn't need Monroe either, they woulda just found another bum for GGG to beat up on.. Rodriguez was top 10 on his division when Ward beat him.. Rigo fights aren't entertaining(rather not go the conspiracy theory route about them still being mad he beat Nonito)
I said all this about a month ago....I agree with your entire post (except that Rigo fights are boring)
Who is Barrera to turn down career high paydays and then act like it's Ward fault
Paul Smith was coming off of back to back Championship fights (against Arthur Abraham) then he fought Ward....who has Barrera fought? What levels has he reached to be asking for more than $300k? Beating Murat and the Ghost of Jeff Lacy means you can demand to make much more than a guy who just fought for a Championship in his last 2 fights?
nikka ducked BeterBEAST the same way....by asking for more money, now he's doing the same thing with SOG
He better get his no name ass in the ring, get his career high payday (before Ward just calls up Nadjib Mohammedi) and a L, and continue working. SOG doesn't give in to demands...especially from those who have no resume
