Dan Rafael chat wrap 12/30:
- Is JMM retired? Not officially.
- In a week or two GB and Canelo's team will begin planning his May fight.
- Canelo and GGG next opponents? Not a lot of good options for Canelo, especially for PPV. GGG will likely be Tureano Johnson or Saunders.
- Rosado being a Canelo opponent is only rumors. It would be a horrible PPV. Only worthy of regular HBO.
- Brook vs. Khan could happen this summer in the UK. Brook will take his mandatory first.
- Joshua appears to be the real deal, but his chin needs to hold up.
- Heard rumors of an Algieri vs. Spence fight. That is not a good fight for Algieri.
- Imagines Wilder and Povetkin fight this summer.
- Predicts that Pacquiao vs. Bradley 3 will bomb on PPV (500k buys if they are lucky). Is respectful, but told Arum he thinks it is a bad fight.
- Arum said Pacquiao picked Bradley after getting all the relevant info about making the fights. Crawford and Khan were the other two candidates.
- Is Bradley vs. Pacquiao the king of pointless trilogies? Probably Wright-McKart.
- Arum's team is dealing with the MGM to make the fight there.
- Nobody believes this will be Pacquiao's last fight.
- British boxing fans complain more than US ones (in regards to why US customers pay more for PPV than their British counterparts).
- Herrera is one of many opponents being mentioned to fight Crawford next.
- Arum says if Ibeabuchi can get a license he would like to put Ike on the Pacquiao-Bradley 3 undercard.
- Crawford vs. Danny Garcia would be a great matchup, but unlikely to get made.
- Doubts a Jacobs vs. GGG mandatory will be ordered anytime soon.
- Barrera is a more credible opponent for Ward than Smith or Rodriguez.
- Bika vs. Codrington is an underrated fight.
- Best atmosphere of a fight in 2015? Canelo-Kirkland, followed by Canelo-Cotto, and GGG-Lemieux. Mayweather-Pacquiao was too corporate.
- Does he believe Spence KO'd Broner during sparring? Yes.
