Me too. I wanted to see them get it in as well, but it is what it is. Unless a contract is signed, there is no fight. The Porter's might as well move on and even start calling out Errol Spence or somebody if they want a big fight...or try and enter that WBC Tournament to get the winner of Garcia vs Guerrero.

Ken Porter had come out and said they had received "reassurance" that Thurman will take a fight with Porter, however, there is no contract to speak of. In my mind, and seeing #1 Haymon Client Floyd pull this exact same thing with Khan, if there is no signed contract....there is no fight.


If there was to really be a fight between the 2, I would think that a contract signed by Thurman and Porter saying that would be laying around somewhere.....and it's not. So in my mind, there is no fight happening

To have a signed contract everything has to be set to go. You need venue, date, commission, refs, advertising, tv time and all that. You cannot just give somebody a contract to fight while you're still figuring things out. Unless you wanna be taken to court and cough up money.

My dude said Haymon wanna stack that card and advertise it well. Broner-Porter was not sold well and Haymon doesn't wanna matchup 2 good talents with no buzz but then again there would be no buzz if one side keeps negotiating in the media. My dude said he was at the fight last Saturday and Kenny was acting strange. Maybe he's angry that they don't have a signed contract by now. I mean they could have fought somebody else. But then again you can't blame people when you were told not to negotiate in the media. I wish Porter were with Top Rank instead. Haymon is too lenient and we all know why he can't get too involved all the way in lots of stuff.

Again the Porters need to talk to Haymon and stay off the media.

It's not like they have differing managers/promoters, they have the same exact people. It shouldn't take this long if it was planned to happen, hell it took way less time for Garcia to get Guerrero than it is for Porter to get Thurman....but yet no one even mentions that


In my mind, Thurman isn't really interested in taking the fight and him and his team are hoping to stall The Porters out....then Thurman will come out of hiding saying "things just didn't work out behind the scenes" or some PR excuse Haymon will give him to protect him

You're absolutely right. These last couple of interviews you can tell he's throwing darts at Haymon. Shawn is always professional in his interviews & needs to tell his pops to fall back & stay in his lane.

I agree with you about the whole not negotiating in the media thing...........but they need to push this shyt. Unless they want their premier talents taking jobber tune ups 2x a year

From what we heard Haymon told Thurman to keep quiet & for the Porter's to stop negotiating in the media. The Porter's keep doing what they're doing (I don't blame them either) & we're still in limbo about this fight. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.
