Boxer Prichard Colon was taken to Inova Fairfax hospital early Saturday evening after experiencing dizziness and vomiting in his dressing room and, according to multiple reports, underwent surgery for bleeding on the brain as a result of his bout against Terrel Williams.

Several of those reports also indicated Colon was in a coma following the operation, citing family members’ updates from the hospital. It’s unclear if the coma was medically induced.

Colon was fighting on the undercard of Lamont Peterson’s majority decision over Felix Diaz at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax. The previously undefeated Puerto Rican was disqualified before the start of the 10th and final round for the first loss of the 154-pounder’s career.

In one of the more peculiar sequences even for boxing, Colon’s corner began removing his gloves after the ninth round, apparently unaware the fight had not ended. Eventually realizing there was another round left, Colon’s corner tried to get his gloves back on, but too much time had passed, and referee Joseph Cooper signaled for a disqualification.

Colon (16-1, 13 knockouts) was behind on the scorecards during a fight in which he received a two-point deduction in Round 5 for a low blow.

Williams left no doubt about his superiority by sending Colon down twice in the ninth round. The second knockdown came seconds before the bell, and Colon appeared woozy and incoherent.

During the fight, Colon complained to Cooper about getting hit with punches to the back of his head. At one point, Colon, 23, had to take a lengthy period in the middle of a round to collect himself. Cooper later deducted one point from Williams (15-0, 12 KOs) in Round 7 for a rabbit punch.

If ward/kkkov comes off expect a manny/floyd type beating. Kkkov will be game but ward will crush him, then #Beastmode will be waiting

In the GGG vs Lemieux thread, I said:

Canelo can always say he looked at Cotto as a chance for a big PPV fight for the fans to see the Mexican/Puerto Rican rivalry pitting 2 elite Junior Middleweights (being that Cotto has never fought at the Middleweight max) and is now turning his attention on unifying the Junior Middleweight Division:mjpls:

Kinda like the same bullshyt yall accepted GGG saying why he was willing to move up and fight either Froch or JCC Jr at Super Middleweight...but stay at Middleweight.:sas1:

Don't forget, Canelo is ALREADY on record saying he has no plans to become a Middleweight any time soon:sas2:

Before fighting James Kirkland, Canelo said:
“No, I still feel comfortable and can still make the weight,” Canelo said about him staying at 154.

Canelo says he’s staying at 154, not moving to 160!

So, unless he has a change of heart, we might just beat Cotto and drop the belt:smugbiden:

#CaneloCartel

:canelocartel:

And it seems Coke Boy already knows Canelo is THEE MAN...and will call his own shots:mjpls:

Check this out:

Oscar De La Hoya: Canelo will be ready for Golovkin -- eventually
By Bad Left Hook and fighthub on Oct 18, 2015, 6:33a 2

Oscar De La Hoya doesn't sound like he's eager to put a time frame on a fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.

Oscar De La Hoya: Canelo will be ready for Golovkin -- eventually

There's a video in that link and the Canelo/GGG talks start at 2:25:mjpls:

Like I said...."eventually" should be just as acceptable AGAINST GGG as it as FOR GGG:sas1:

GGG will "eventually" fight Ward, but not now because he's not a real Super Middleweight yet? Ok.:ehh:

Well, Canelo will "eventually" fight GGG, but not now, because he's not a real Middleweight yet either:sas2:
