broner vs khan should be next

Why?:dwillhuh:

Khan doesn't fight at Junior Welterweight and Broner isn't a Welterweight...he's a 140 Champion. If Khan comes back down to 140, then that's different

Golovkin vs Lemieux odds: All four A-side fighters remain heavy favorites
By Scott Christ@scottchristBLH on Oct 13, 2015, 8:00a +

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Gennady Golovkin, Roman Gonzalez, Tureano Johnson, and Luis Ortiz are all clear favorites to win, at least according to the oddsmakers.

The lines for Saturday night's Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux fight aren't moving a lot, with the undefeated Golovkin still the heavy favorite. As we noted yesterday, the four "A-side" fighters on the card -- Gennady Golovkin, Roman Gonzalez, Tureano Johnson, and Luis Ortiz -- are in fact all heavy favorites, and that is holding true as of Tuesday morning, and likely will through the rest of the week.

The selling point for the card is action and knockouts. Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO) and Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO) are both action fighters with big power, and most insiders as well as people who have mostly functioning brains figure the fight is going to end inside the distance. None of Golovkin's last 20 opponents have made it to the scheduled final bell, and only two of them (Kassim Ouma and Martin Murray) have gone past the eighth round. This is a streak that goes back to 2008.

Lemieux, on the other hand, did go the full 12 in his last fight, though he dropped the incredibly resilient Hassan N'Dam four times along the way en route to winning the vacant IBF middleweight title. N'Dam had shown that sort of resolve in his 2012 loss to Peter Quillin, too, going 12 despite hitting the canvas six times.

Here's a look at how the bookies see the fights right now:

Nope:umad:

RTV – Lets talk about the popularity of social media. You and Adrien Broner took it upon yourselves to call each other out on Twitter. Talk to us about the potential bout?

AK – Adrien Broner recently was calling me out on Twitter. We spoke on FaceTime and Broner feels he has what it takes to beat me. I said I would take that fight in a heartbeat. When we were speaking about coming to terms with the fight, he asked me what weight I wanted fight. Obviously I’m 147-pound fighter, I’m not thinking about moving up or down in weight. Broner asked if I could make 144 or 145, I told him you’ve been calling me out at my weight. I think realized Amir is no joke, he came to his senses and is kicking himself for calling me out, because in return I called him out. I said let’s do it, only at 147.

Q&A: Amir Khan on Kell Brook, Chris Algieri, Adrien Broner, boxing fans - Ring TV

He starts of saying AB was calling him out, not the other way around. AB then asked him to come to 144 or 145 for the fight, and Khan himself is admitting he turned it down saying he would do it......only at 147:smugbiden:

Therefore, Shawn Porter got the call and took AB up on the offer instead.:yeshrug:

Team Jean: Crawford is HBO's Darling, We Want His Spot

Posted by: Jake Donovan on 10/13/2015 .

By Jake Donovan

The main appeal in Terence Crawford and his team accepting Dierry Jean as an opponent was, simply, that the Haitian-Canadian simply wanted the fight. The unbeaten two-division champ will fight at home for the third time in his past four ring appearances when he and Jean collide in an HBO-televised clash October 24 at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.

Crawford and promoter Top Rank acknowledge the fact that Jean wanted the fight, that they didn’t have to go looking for him when searching for a next opponent.

Jean and his team don’t recall negotiations going quite as smooth prior to being offered the opportunity to face the man recognized by many outlets as 2014 Fighter of the Year.

“We were after Terence Crawford for a while,” manager Camille Estephan told BoxingScene.com. “I called HBO every day asking for the opportunity. We felt it was the best opportunity to put together.

“Bryan McIntyre (Crawford’s trainer and co-manager) was the one who told us, “Take a number and go back in line.” They can say what they want, but they didn’t want the fight right away.”

Jean (29-1, 20KOs) willingly moved back up in weight upon learning Crawford agreed to take him for the first defense of his super lightweight title. Prior to receiving the opportunity, Jean decided to give lightweight a test drive following a failed bid versus then-140 lb. titlist Lamont Peterson last January.

Four straight wins came at lightweight, but nothing in the way of a big fight that justified his dropping down one division north. With the chance to unseat one of the best fighters in the world today, came the revelation that adding five pounds back to his frame was in fact the right move to make.

“I can make 135 or 140, but we saw the great opportunity to return (to super lightweight),” Jean told BoxingScene.com. “We have a chance to unseat the best fighter in the world at this weight.”

Regardless of when the fight was accepted, the 33-year old contender is ready for the opportunity of a lifetime. A win may not immediately put him at the top of the food chain, but will give him one hell of a running head start.

“Terence Crawford is the darling of HBO these days. We want his spot,” Estephan notes.

The bout will mark Jean’s debut on HBO and just his second career fight in the United States. His previous trip south of the Canadian border resulted in the lone loss of his career.

That was then… and all that good stuff.

“This is my year,” vows Jean, who has two wins in 2015, including a 10-round decision over Jerry Belmontes in June. “I’ve never felt so strong. I will shock the world on October 24.”

Team Jean: Crawford is HBO's Darling, We Want His Spot

Why would Crawford (or his team) have jumped initially at fighting Dierry Jean?:heh:

Just because you call out the Champ, doesn't mean you're worthy to fight him. If that's the case, nikkas would be fighting bums all over the US:mjlol:

And that's why the fight didn't happen. AB is a Junior Welterweight looking to make a big fight...145 was his max offer.

AB vs Khan didn't happen, so instead we got AB vs Porter:manny:
