James Prince, manager of undefeated welterweight contender Brad Solomon (25-0), has advised BoxingScene.com that the Louisiana native will return to the ring on October 16th in Brooklyn, NY against Steve Claggett (22-3-1). The fight will serve as the chief support for the Seanie Monaghan-Donovan George main event. Both fights will be televised by truTV.
Solomon last fought on the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao undercard when he outpointed Adrian Granados. Claggett has won 7 out of his last 8 fights with his only loss being a close decision loss to undefeated Russian prospect Konstantin Ponomarev.
Solomon's trainer Herman Harris said that they are grateful to be able to fight on the truTV platform and hope to use this fight as a springboard to even bigger fights.
"We appreciate truTV for having us on. We are looking to be impressive as we move on to bigger opportunities. That is if we can get any of the top guys at 147 to stop avoiding us!" Harris told BoxingScene.com.
The fight card takes place on the eve of the Gennady Golovkin-David Lemieux pay-per-view card that takes place at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

It's great to see King Solomon back in action, but he's managed by Prince TOO?
