Also, does anyone else feel that Brandon Rios would be a great matchup against either Porter, Guerrero or DSG? Not saying he'd hand out L's, but Rios with any of those three would make for some good entertainment.

I'm a little on the fence about Rios, being that he struggled so much vs. Chaves & the Alvarado fight is not a good indicator of his potential at 147, but I feel like we saw a much more focused fighter in Denver.

In Bradley's case, she supported him while he chased his dream. She held him down as a person that was previously a waiter and dishwasher so that he could quit his job and become a fighter full time while she brought in the money and paid the bills. She might not be the most attractive, but she is a true ride or die. When he went to fight Junior Witter in England, they only had $11 in their bank account. He damn near quit but she pushed him to continue on.

I know, I know. Alvarado was barely returning fire, but Rios was looking great that night. His overhand right/uppercut combo was lethal, his inside fighting was looking crisp, and he was pumping the jab again. It was a farcry from what we saw in his previous bout against Chaves, when he looked completely shot. So the question now is how much does Rios truly have left when he's going against a live body.

Nonetheless, I think Rios vs. Porter DSG or Ghost would be great matchups that we'll never get.


On Chaves, I don't think he gets enough credit whatsoever. Winless da gawd is going to test anyone who ain't smart enough to deal with a rough and openly dirty fighter. We saw it when Bradley wasn't able to stop him from coming forward, and also when Rios had to beg the ref for a DQ victory over Chaves -- and I absolutely do not think Porter is savy enough to win a fight against him.

Brook or DSG handle him, but not Porter.

Deontay Wilder: Definitely, with the unknown fighters that people aren’t too familiar with, they are the dangerous ones because they have more that they want to prove. They got so much on the line, they want to get their name out a little bit more, they want to get that exposure, and most of all everybody wants to be a heavyweight champion of the world. If you don’t then you’re in the sport for the wrong reasons.

It makes him that more dangerous for sure, but not only him for being unknown, but any fighter that steps in the ring when you’re putting that title on the line, it’s just a different feeling. I got a different feeling when I’m in the ring and I know my title is on the line.

I know if I don’t perform to the best of my abilities or if I’m not training properly and doing all the right things, then someone could very well take this from me. That’s why they say, “you can’t play boxing,” because it’s too dangerous to play around, you always have to train as if you’re the contender. You have to stay hungry and as a champion I’m still hungry, I’m still determined, I’m still motivated. I’m still humble, no one will ever catch me slipping as far as training wise.

I prepare for each and everybody that’s tried to come and take it, and I did say “try” because that is the keyword, they’re gonna try to take it. I’m looking forward to him, I’m looking forward to his size, I’m looking forward to his ability, and most of all to put on a great show for the boxing fans around the world.
