correct me if im wrong but isn't haymon (alhumduallah) giving his fighters an option on who to face?
yep....he should maybe add extra money for tougher fights.
i always thought al payed good as a marketing technique to draw boxers. then once everyone is signed he would eventually make them start facing hard comp frequently.

Or you can pick your own opponent and Haymon will attempt to make that fight (i.e. When AB was cocky as hell and let the fans vote on who he would face next, and he ended up selecting Marcos Maidana because he finished 2nd in the poll).
That's why i said, we gotta blame the Boxers themselves, not Haymon. Haymon is doing his job 100%. His job is to get you the most money he can every time out...kinda like a sports agent
I just cant understand why Khan, Porter, Thurman, Garcia arent trying to face each other.
If I could have it my way, I would make PBC on NBC Danny Garcia vs Amir Khan 2, PBC on NBC Keith Thurman vs Shawn Porter, and have the winners & losers face each other on a PBC on NBC doubleheader.
Crazy thing is, Breadman (who's fighter is a Haymon fighter) already TOLD us that if the fighters want to face a big name, they can...Haymon doesnt stop you. I cant blame Haymon for the fighters choosing weaker opps, except for the fact he will pay you the same amount to face a Keith Thurman as he would to face an Arron Martinez
When I think about it like that, I see why the choose the easier path...it's common sense. Easier work = same money.
and their promoters. right?
Haymon fighters dont have promoters
They either all have started their own independent Promotional company (DSG Promotions, About Billions Promotions, etc) or are working with other promoters (Dibella, Warriors Boxing, Matchroom, etc) to run the show.
That's how Haymon avoids the manager + promoter violation
Thurman in this interview explains the process with Haymon fighters on whom they choose to fight:
"i'm a 'yes-man'."
Figgy/Burns wasn't supposed to be 50/50 either.....
@yawn yeah im not happy about that fight if thats official..i want gary to face someone more high profile..cuz last time i check marriaga didnt walk away with that wba belt against walters
Thurman in this interview explains the process with Haymon fighters on whom they choose to fight:
The fifth installment of PBC on ESPN is scheduled for Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.
With college football kicking off this week, the PBC on ESPN shows will be on Wednesday nights in the fall instead of Saturday nights, on which the first three took place.
In Bradley's case, she supported him while he chased his dream. She held him down as a person that was previously a waiter and dishwasher so that he could quit his job and become a fighter full time while she brought in the money and paid the bills. She might not be the most attractive, but she is a true ride or die. When he went to fight Junior Witter in England, they only had $11 in their bank account. He damn near quit but she pushed him to continue on.
'Dead broke' Timothy Bradley and wife Monica took big gamble that paid off
You can read more there. nikkas would kill to have a woman in their corner (no pun intended) like that.
