yep....he should maybe add extra money for tougher fights.

i always thought al payed good as a marketing technique to draw boxers. then once everyone is signed he would eventually make them start facing hard comp frequently.

Yep, he should start capping dollars, but at the same time, that's not what his job is........because he's just an advisor and not a promoter:youngsabo::troll:

His job is to get as much money as he can for every fighter, no matter their opposition, which is why the Boxers are like :noah:, and alot of fans are like :shaq2:

correct me if im wrong but isn't haymon (alhumduallah) giving his fighters an option on who to face?

Or you can pick your own opponent and Haymon will attempt to make that fight (i.e. When AB was cocky as hell and let the fans vote on who he would face next, and he ended up selecting Marcos Maidana because he finished 2nd in the poll).

That's why i said, we gotta blame the Boxers themselves, not Haymon. Haymon is doing his job 100%. His job is to get you the most money he can every time out...kinda like a sports agent:manny:

I just cant understand why Khan, Porter, Thurman, Garcia arent trying to face each other.:mindblown:

If I could have it my way, I would make PBC on NBC Danny Garcia vs Amir Khan 2, PBC on NBC Keith Thurman vs Shawn Porter, and have the winners & losers face each other on a PBC on NBC doubleheader.:ohlawd:

Crazy thing is, Breadman (who's fighter is a Haymon fighter) already TOLD us that if the fighters want to face a big name, they can...Haymon doesnt stop you. I cant blame Haymon for the fighters choosing weaker opps, except for the fact he will pay you the same amount to face a Keith Thurman as he would to face an Arron Martinez:snoop:

When I think about it like that, I see why the choose the easier path...it's common sense. Easier work = same money.

Thurman in this interview explains the process with Haymon fighters on whom they choose to fight:

and their promoters. right?

Haymon fighters dont have promoters:yeshrug:

They either all have started their own independent Promotional company (DSG Promotions, About Billions Promotions, etc) or are working with other promoters (Dibella, Warriors Boxing, Matchroom, etc) to run the show.

That's how Haymon avoids the manager + promoter violation:manny:

Figgy/Burns wasn't supposed to be 50/50 either.....

That's the thing bout PBC tho smoke

Not only are they putting on a lot of events, the fights people deem mismatches and complain about usually turn out to be great fights or FOTY candidates

@yawn yeah im not happy about that fight if thats official..i want gary to face someone more high profile..cuz last time i check marriaga didnt walk away with that wba belt against walters

Marriaga isn't top 10 but he just went the distance going toe-to-toe with the biggest puncher and one of the best in Gary's division

Great test on such a short notice and a good fight to use as a comparison between Gary and Walters

Plus Gary gettin Primetime Shine. We Primetime Pat :blessed:

I still don't understand why it seems like Thurman out of all the Haymon fighters at 140-147 he is getting so much less of a push.
He might be the only person on the PBC roster who I think would benefit their career by leaving Haymon.

The next edition of Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN will take place Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET and will be headlined by former welterweight and junior welterweight titleholder Devon Alexander, according to the network.

Alexander will take on journeyman Aron Martinez at the Gila River Arena is Glendale, Arizona.

A formal announcement has yet to be made.

Alexander (26-3, 14 KOs), 28, of St. Louis, has not looked good in recent fights. He has lost two of his last three bouts and is coming off a near-shutout decision loss to Amir Khan in December.

Martinez (19-4-1, 4 KOs), 33, a Los Angeles-based native of Mexico, has lost three of his last four fights and only has boxed four times since late 2012. However, he dropped welterweight contender Robert Guerrero and gave him a serious run for his money in a debatable split decision loss June 6.

The card also will feature featherweight titlist Lee Selby (21-1, 8 KOs), 28, of Wales, who will make his first title defense when he faces Mexico's Fernando Montiel (54-4-2, 39 KOs), 36, a former three-division titlist, who has won eight fights in a row. Selby won a 126-pound world title May 30 in London when he dominated Russia's Evgeny Gradovich en route to an eight-round technical decision victory cut short because Gradovich suffered a cut over his right eye from an accidental head butt and was unable to continue.

Selby is already in the United States training for the fight with Montiel. He was ringside Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to watch Leo Santa Cruz claim a vacant featherweight belt with a majority decision win against Abner Mares in an action-packed, fight of the year candidate that headlined a PBC on ESPN card.

Selby hopes to eventually face Santa Cruz, which is entirely possible since they are both with adviser Al Haymon, the creator of PBC.

Devon Alexander to fight Aron Martinez in Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN card Oct. 14

Acceptable rebound fight for Alexander who's not had a good run lately with being dominated by both Porter & Khan. That Selby vs Montiel fight should be a nice introduction for Selby to the US audience.:ehh:

But the BEST thing about this article is the fact that this fight is on October 14th, which is a Wednesday:

The fifth installment of PBC on ESPN is scheduled for Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.

With college football kicking off this week, the PBC on ESPN shows will be on Wednesday nights in the fall instead of Saturday nights, on which the first three took place.

:banderas:

Tuesdays: PBC on Fox Sports 1
Wednesdays: PBC on ESPN
Fridays: PBC on Spike TV
Saturdays: PBC on NBC or CBS, HBO Boxing, Showtime Boxing
Sundays: PBC on Bounce TV

Brehs, we about to eat during the week as well on the weekends:wow::mjcry:

Im happy brehs, dont mind these tears:to:

Lombardi Trophies in Allen Park
In Bradley's case, she supported him while he chased his dream. She held him down as a person that was previously a waiter and dishwasher so that he could quit his job and become a fighter full time while she brought in the money and paid the bills. She might not be the most attractive, but she is a true ride or die. When he went to fight Junior Witter in England, they only had $11 in their bank account. He damn near quit but she pushed him to continue on.

'Dead broke' Timothy Bradley and wife Monica took big gamble that paid off

You can read more there. nikkas would kill to have a woman in their corner (no pun intended) like that.

Yeah...outside of :troll:, I actually have no problem with Monica.

She held HIM down at the beginning of his career, not the other way around. We cant compare her to Jin Mosley at all who wasnt shyt without Shane O'Mac taking her in.
