Dan Rafael chat wrap 4/3:

Mayweather-Pacquiao:
- Tickets will be released to the public next week. Guessing that maybe 1,000 will be available to the general public.
- Only MGM properties will show the fight on closed circuit (but that is 10 or 11 properties).
- Date to determine the referee and judges likely will be 4/21.
- In 15 years of covering Mayweather, he has been nothing but cordial and nice.
- Sky paid $4.5 million to televise the bout. The price could go up depending on how the PPV sells.
- When bars are charged to buy PPV's they are charged by max occupancy. (Write in questions says his buddy has a bar and the cost to buy this fight is $5,000)
- Programs will be on sale soon at spboxing.com. Richard Sloan is doing the artwork for the poster. Those will be available soon as well.
- Predicting over 3 million PPV buys.
- The total revenue from this bout likely could have been more if the date was announced earlier to get everything lined up more methodically.

The rest of boxing:
- Believes that Stevenson-Kovalev will happen, if they both win their next fights.
- Predicting Stevens beats Rosado.
- Roc Nation has been in talks with Gary Shaw to possibly schedule Geale as Cotto's next opponent.
- Julian Ramirez has looked good. Still not sure yet if he is truly legit or not.
- Doesn't believe Khan is scared of Brook. Wants to see Khan-Brook. Not a fan of Khan-Algieri.
- Not sure why Khan wants the Algieri fight (the fight is not officially set yet), other than to make a good payday against an easier opponent.
- Matthysse-Provodnikov is the fight he is most looking forward to outside of Mayweather-Pacquiao.
- Brook could be added to the Linares May 30th card.
- Doesn't imagine Bradley would turn down Gavin as an opponent. Bradley would be a large favorite.
- Had Charlo winning a close fight vs. Vanes. Didn't think either guy looked impressive.
- Since Showtime won't pick up Khan-Algieri, expect it to be on NBC or NBC Sports.
- In Andre Ward's next fight, expects him to look the same as always, with little ring rust. Fight will be on BET.
- Opponents listed for Ward could be: Paul Smith or Marco Antonio Periban.
- The WBO did not approve Kameda- McDonnell unification because they recognize Payano as the the WBA titleholder, not the secondary titleholder McDonnell.
- RJJ fought a few times on PPV (Gonzalez and Harding were poor sellers), but most his fights weren't PPV worthy. He earned $4-5 million a fight at his peak for regular HBO fights.
- Loves the Gonzalez-Sosa fight. It is a solid matchup and likes that Roman is getting a shot to be on HBO.
- Likes Gomez-Soto being added as the undercard to Alvarez-Kirkland. Expects Gomez to win, but Soto will bring it.
- If GRJ and Lomachenko rematch, he expects the same Lomachenko victory.
- HBO and Showtime are both interested in the Linares fight. Likely it will end up on US TV.
- The Bey-Shafikov fight was cancelled because Bey wanted more than the $200k he was being offered.
- Canelo vs. Paul Williams when the fight was rumored to be made? Picks Canelo because Paul was on the downside of his career.
- Nothing new on Nicholas Walters. TR still hopes to make Walters-Lomachenko eventually.
- Not sure who controls Khan's broadcast rights. Showtime claims they do. Khan says they don't.
- Beterbiev vs. Campillo? Beterbiev.
- Thought Judah deserved a legit KD vs. Floyd. Wouldn't have mattered on the scorecard as Floyd ending up winning dominantly.
- Would not be surprised if any or all of these fights are made this year: Stevenson-Kovalev, Canelo-Cotto, Brook-Khan, Broner-Garcia.
- GGG's camp says they are interested in fighting Froch and would consider fighting in the UK.
- If Ward says that GGG is ducking him, he is delusional.
- Canelo-Kirkland will scale the stadium down, but still have about 40,000 seats available.
- Likely we get GRJ-Mares later this year, with the winner facing LSC at some point.
- Nonito Donaire could be back on TR's July card in Macau.
- Doubful we get Thurman-Brook this Summer.
- Kovalev-Mohamedi likely takes place June/July. Venues could be Atlantic City or Russia.
- There are a lot more reporters getting boxing credential lately. They often root during the fight. He finds it pathetic and unprofessional.
- For the April 18th fight, Lampley and Hopkins will be in Verona.
- Stevenson-Bika? Stevenson by late KO.
- If Verdejo wins his next fight, he likely will fight Ivan Najera on his HBO debut.
