just rewatched maidana-ortiz. I forgot how crazy this fight was. these guys were trading nothing but power punches for 5 straight rounds. I know ortiz quit, but looking at what maidana eventually went on to accomplish, it's insane how ortiz was able to withstand 5 rounds of haymakers from the dude. maidana got one punch knockout power and ortiz had to have taken at least 35 bombs straight to the chin. ortiz fought like a warrior, but after that one big shot from maidana in the 5th, you can actually see the exact moment his soul and heart leave his body. maidana really beat the will out of him. it's a shame cause ortiz really was an exciting fighter with a mean punch. if he wasn't so mentally unstable he coulda done great things.
on the other hand, it's crazy to see how much maidana improved since then. dude was such a one dimensional fighter at that time. just come forward, no defense, lunging all over the place. shyt is like night and day from then and now. it's dope when you see a fighter dedicate themselves and completely master their style over the years.

i want to merge them but the HBO card is starting at 10 pm again, sho extreme card is at 7 and the main showtime card is at 9
there's going to be cats watching the HBO card first, or the showtime card first, or attempting to watch both at the same time..so i may just leave those threads separate for tonight..and whoever is watching what card can just post in the respective threads
